We stopped at the hotel for two nights in July and enjoyed the stay. The breakfast and evening meal was included in the package offer and we really enjoyed the evening meal and the two waiters who served us was very attentive. The breakfast had a good choice and the lady who appered to be in charge was very good however the other younger members of staff could do with some training. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and there was also a travel cot provided for the baby. We used the swimming facilities which was also good. We would stay again at this hotel again.

Stayed for 2 nights 19;th July 2019. The room 69;was disgusting, very outdated and smelled fusty. The carpet was covered in stains, the bed terrible and the fixtures and fittings very very shabby, we ate in restaurant on Friday night, the food was actually very good. We did use the pool which wa ok but the jacuzzi was full of gritty stuff on the bottom. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone....very disappointed

Booked for twenty people to have a full buffet and room for the afternoon on a Sunday for a baby shower. The room was ready when we got there with tables, cutlery, chairs and glasses already laid out. We decorated the room with our bits and pieces (which staff kindly didn’t ask us to clear up as they said they would do it!) As soon as we arrived, Nick was introduced to us and was on hand to help with any requests we had. We didn’t have a speaker and the room didn’t have music, but Nick was more than happy to arrange a speaker for us which was excellent. The food was absolutely delicious. There was a lot of it considering the price was only around £16 per person. It was great quality and delicious! It was also really helpful that our food arrived on time as arranged. It was hot and fresh and the choice was great! All the staff were happy to help and had smiles on their faces. I was surprised at how busy the kitchen was on a Sunday, but despite this staff were happy to help us with more sauces and great service. Considering there were a couple of other events on, you wouldn’t have known. Everything was well managed and ran smoothly. The outside area was well kept and perfect for sitting in on a sunny afternoon. The toilets were lovely and clean, and the hotel itself has a lot of character inside. Overall a fantastic experience and I would definitely come back here for another lunchtime or afternoon family do. It’s so close to Chester and yet feels like it is away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Thank you Mollington hotel for making our event such a lovely day!

My husband and I stayed 2 nights in this hotel. Our room and the rest of the hotel needed an urgent referb. The carpet in the room was very badly stained (see photo)and the furniture needs to be replaced urgently. The bed was extremely uncomfortable so consequently we did not get much sleep We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and enjoyed them both days. The bar area furniture was quite bad (see photo). The staff were very good. It’s a shame but we will not be returning to this hotel unless a major refurbishment happens there.

Dear Shirley S We are sorry if on this occasion the hotel did not quite meet with your expectations. We have re decorated and re carpeted the public areas, corridors and some rooms. The fixtures, furnishing and fittings will be addressed in the next stage of our rolling programme at the hotel and we hope to welcome you back once this is complete. Thank you for letting us know that you enjoyed dining in the hotel and that al the team looked after you so well. Kind regards Denise Ummat Director

This review is completely honest and is only on reaction of what I experienced. We came up to explore Chester and the Zoo. The Zoo will have a review soon Disgusting room, stained ceiling, threadbare carpet, uncomfortable bed. Scorch marks on chair, steak overdone. Not many tea bags or milk in room The only thing going for this hotel is its leisure services but even that had its minuses. Rust in jacuzzi, not in swimming pool, no locks for lockers, littered floor in facilities. No kids in Jacuzzi only over 18. Small pool for splash area for kids. You have to pay a pound for a towel. Not clear although it mentions this in the hotel guide that is the room you occupies. Supposed to be a four star more, why only because of salon and leisure facilities.

Dear CarysC10 Your comments are certainly not typical of those that we receive both on this site and directly from our guests regarding the rooms, service and the Spa. We can only apologise that the hotel did not meet with your expectations and that you did not contact us directly so that we could improve your stay. I have noted your feedback and will discuss this the GM . We hope that you enjoyed Chester and the Zoo. Regards Denise Ummat Director
