We have visited Ghizzano every summer for ten years now staying at Il Monte/Santa Gulia. It has proved our perfect family holiday house: exquisite views from the hilltop, positioned well away from the road, the bedrooms are individual and all charming. The pool is large and there is a shaded gazebo for outdoor eating. The tenuta office is always helpful...

We have been to many agriturismo, and this is much better than the average. The location is great, the facilities are plentiful, and the service is excellent. The cooking service is amazing and unique. We will certainly come back!

We were at Tenuta di Gizzano already 3x with more friends. We have always found a friendly atmosphere, good price, quiet, located on a gentle hill, nice people. Green economy olive and wine and Tuscany :-) Glad we come again

We spent one week at the Santa Giulia apartment of the Agriturismo. The location is quite isolated (most worth sightseeing spots are at least an hour's drive away). The garden is beautiful, swimming pool is clean but not heated. In early May we found it was still too cold to bathe in. The apartment was well organised and we spent...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Centrally located at the point where the provinces of Pisa, Siena and Florence meet, you can find the Tenuta di Ghizzano, which stretches for about 360 hectares among the gentle Pisan hills. Our family arrived at Ghizzano in 1370 and the wine and oil production have been, from the beginning, the main activities distributed across several farms, at that time managed by sharecroppers. Today the farmhouses are are dedicated to tourism. Our four farmhouses, built at the end of the 19th century, have been restored maintaining the original structure, but they are equipped with all modern comforts like TV sat and Wi-Fi Internet connection. They are situated in the middle of the countryside, among wheat fields, olive trees, vineyards, buzzards, bee-eaters and roe-deers. Every farmhouse has a unique style, yet each house has some common characteristics: a swimming pool, a barbecue and a large garden. Ghizzano, the little medieval hamlet reachable on foot from every house, has everything you may need: a bakery, a food shop, a local club and an Italian clothes shop. Within a ten minute drive you can find Peccioli, where there are some excellent restaurants, reviewed on TripAdvisor, banks, supermarkets, a chemist and a butchers. It takes only 30 minutes by car to reach Volterra and San Gimignano, while it takes about one hour to reach the most well-known cultural cities such as Lucca, Siena, Florence and Pisa. As a real Pisan would say, they are within "shooting" distance! Wine and extra-virgin olive oil have always been produced here and you are invited to taste them in our ancient historical cellar or in our beautiful Italian style garden. In this garden we host art, music and food tasting events enhanced by our great wines. Our farming method is completely organic; that's why you can still find rich and diversified local flora and fauna that makes the environment even more perfect. We look forward to welcoming you! ... more   less
