This hotel is very special. The building, the atmosphere, the service superb. You have to experience this to appreciate it. Dinner isn't served on Sunday and Monday evening so we opted for a cold plate served on a veranda overlooking the estuary with superb wine on a warm sunny evening. Memorable.

comfortable, relaxed hotel. clean spotless room (with a self confessed ocd housekeeper!). Some may find it old fashioned (no bling) but if it is, its is so in a very comfortable, relaxed way. great breakfasts too (best we had in Tasmania). Great location for the Huon valley and the many attractions near by. small staff all very freindly and helpful....

Villa Howden is a lovely place to stay. The Villa is quite spacious with lots of areas to sit and relax, read a book from the library or play various games. The Villa and the rooms are decorated in a french style, plenty of room in the bedrooms with a small verandah looking out over the property. We were welcomed...

If you are looking for a relaxing stay in a boutique French inspired Villa this place is for you. The grounds / building are unique and the service outstanding (special mention to Richard who went above and beyond). Highly recommend to others.

Just a wonderful stay in a beautiful property in a very special corner of the world. We were welcomed to complimentary champagne on arrival in front of the fire place then had an excellent dinner on local Tassie produce, the Cape Grim steak was fantastic and I went over the top quizzing the waiter on exactly how they cooked it...

Firstly, I am writing about dinner as we did not stay overnight. The building itself is beautiful and had a sense of magic on a cold evening. However, the dining room too was chilly. It didn't help that there were only a handful of people dining. The food itself was local, expensive for what it was and somewhat ordinary. In...

The room was a decent size which was comfortable and had great views. The location is a few minutes from some shops and restaurants and not an inconvenience. The breakfasts offered were the best I've had from any restaurant in a long time. The eggs benedict was really good and the options were impressive. The fruit platter was great as...
