The Inn had gotten a bit worn and was for sale. New owners doing great job renovating without losing the old inn feel. Think new bathrooms but still original plank floors in BRs. New front porch will be awesome when it's finished. So nice to see this historic gem facing the lake come back. Lots of outdoor and indoor dining and we heard from other guests and family members in the area food is fantastic. Things to note, no TVs in the rooms (but wifi was free and good). Baths on the front are across the hall, rest are in room. We stayed in room 30 which was nice and quiet. We're looking forward to coming again.
My family and I spent a wonderful week at the Inn. The staff was welcoming and always attentive. We enjoyed the food and the pies were so delicious. An evening walk to the lake for the sunset was a special way to end the day. Looking forward to our Christmas stay.
We just had a wonderful prime rib dinner at the Inn and enjoyed the festive holiday decor. Butternut bisque was spectacular and the prime rib was cooked to perfection! Rounded out with flavorful, seasoned mash potatoes and asparagus. Best dinner I’ve had at an area restaurant this year.
My husband had a conference in Boston so we decided to extend our trip with a stay at this lovely inn. The drive was easy, less than two hours, and SO worth it! We were transported to a different time & place! The inn itself is very inviting, comfortable & wonderfully historic. The owners, Larry & Phelps, and everyone who worked there could not have been more accommodating & friendly. We loved the restaurant, strolling around the lovely grounds & relaxing on the veranda. The big surprise was the fun tavern & all the friendly & fun locals we met while there! We went boating & on walks around the gorgeous lake. We also went on a fun day trip to nearby Vermont. We extended our stay from two to three nights, but we still had a hard time leaving. We’ll be back!
We went to dinner on Saturday night for my brother-in law's Birthday Celebration. We arrived promptly at 6 pm, waited and waited by the entrance for someone to meet us so we could get a table, after waiting 15 minutes we entered the bar area and walked over to a table then got chastised for trying to seat ourselves, we should have walked out then but we persevered. Our waiter came over to take our drink order, gave us the evening drink special. For starters they had no Orange Vodka, had no Woodford Reserve, and were out of Sangria that happened to be a special of the night. We ordered our meal, and when they arrived my fiance's T-bone steak was Well Done and was supposed to be Medium, my Filet was supposed to be Medium well and was Medium Rare. We got thru dinner and we were ready to order dessert, and the waiter advised " they ran out of dessert" how does that happen ? I said you dont have a cookie or a cupcake you could put a candle in? He said No, we are all out of dessert. We advised this was a Birthday dinner, he said Oh Sorry" How disappointing to go to a Restaurant and the meal itself was mediocre and then they have absolutely no dessert. They had a decent size function in the other room, perhaps they got all the correct cooked food, plus the Sangria and Woodford Reserve and all the dessert's. Very Disappointing. We will never go back or Recommend.…
