I loved my time at the Barn. My friend and I had planned on going camping in the Abel Tasman in the middle of our stay there, but the rain and winds ended up being too harsh for us to go that day. Ronda (the resident "camp mother") sorted out all of our plans and reservations for a water taxi... More

One of our favourite campsites during a winter canpervan tour of south island. The views from the camp are stunning. The kitchen is well equipped and the log fire is perfect for the cold evenings. The atmosphere was relaxed and the facilities clean and modern. Was perfect to relax with a beer in front of the fire after walking back... More

Rhonda was such a great host! We had a wonderful time sitting by the fire and meeting new people. Our room was warm and clean. You can't beat the proximity to the Abel Tasman track! There are a number of options for toilets and showers. I chose to shower within the hostel as it was warm, but my husband enjoyed... More

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this place. The facilities are incredible and include: indoor/outdoor kitchens (one with amazing sea view!), the best common areas I have seen with huge outdoor fires complemented by the backdrop of Able Tasman and ocean views. There are new bathroom facilities and the entire place is spotless, clean, modern but still filled... More

An amazing place, to chill or just to be on your own for a bit, amazing people and it's right at the entrance of the national park. Definitely a place where to stay again The new showers right in front of the beach are really nice, and if you want to see the sunrise in the morning that's one good... More

The room was well heated and nice clean sheets. Though the bathroom and dorms are slightly apart from each other, but the other facilities like tv room and kitchen is well equipped and cosy. The location is also close to the Abel Tasman coast track which is free and great for trekking.

The owners welcome you like family and learn your name by the end of the day. The beds have down comforters which were HEAVENLY!! The kitchen was well equipped. It was a little annoying that the bathrooms were across the drive way when it was raining in the middle of the night. The showers were nice and overall very clean.

I had an absolutely lovely stay at the Barn. I was upgraded from the hostel into a double cabin, which was incredibly cosy, tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean. The double bed was amazingly comfy and there was a radiator in the room which had a very good capacity to make the room warm. Through the glass doors, I could watch... More

We travelled from North to south N.Zealand. the Barn was our favourite place. My only regret was not staying longer. The young lady was most helpful and hope to see her on Britain's got talent one day! The facilities are good, we could have done with a torch though as quite dark going to toilets of night time. The other... More

This is a little piece of heaven tucked up next to a National Park. It is a place to take a few days to recharge and take a good look at your life. You can do as much or a little as you like but be assured the staff Peter, Donna, Rhonda & Milan will do everything they can to... More
