We have been here many times and it never lets you down. The staff are always friendly and you never seem rushed. The seafood platter and belly pork have to be tried and the cheese board is superb. Great range of beers and ciders add to the experience.

This is a lovely old building housing a very popular pub, where they serve delicious food. But as a hotel is is rather disappointing. Our room was really rather shabby. Although it had clearly been updated in some respects, the window frames hadn't been painted for some time and were black with effects of condensation. There were quirky touches to... More

Although this Hotel has a rustic appearance inside and out, the food is reasonably priced and good quality using local ingredients, the menu is condensed although contains a reasonable variety. Also good selection of real ales and wines.

Visited on a quiet Wednesday with my partner as we were viewing property in this lovely village. After a couple of minutes delay in finding our booking (apology given) we were shown to Room 3 which is mainly cherry red themed and on the front of the building so lovely and sunny. The room was well appointed with exception of... More

Sometimes you get it wrong. We arrived at a busy time and had to wait to book in. We thought, oh dear, this doesn't bode well. But the charming lady who was trying to cope with serving and changing barrels behind the bar saved the day. We were booked in to Room Four which, at the end of building, has... More

Our room was large and well equipped. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and well cooked. I got a good rate from a deal. Why not 4 stars? Because if you want that level of luxury pay top rates and go to The Swan. The George does what it sets out to do admirably, although be warned... More

We chose the George for our family reunion because of its central location for our family along with recommendations from friends. We were not disappointed. Loads of room for us to gather and catch up, from for the kids to run around outside and the food was incredible. Freshest of fresh and locally sourced. Staff were amazing and nothing was... More

I booked the room only the day before and there was no problem with the reservation. I arrived in the evening and was booked into the room 4. Room was really spacious and very clean, and the bed really soft providing really good night’s sleep. If you are a light sleeper and you are planning to have a late morning... More
