I enjoyed my stay at this cozy B&B in Charette. I stayed 1 night to be closer to the SPA where I had booked a massage for the next morning (they are situated about 10 minutes from Spa Baluchon). The property is very well maintained and tastefully decorated. Johanne and her husband Daniel are great hosts. They truly make you a part of their family during your stay. They invite guests to roast marshmallows by the exterior fireplace or even offer them to use their private jacuzzi. Truly nice people. The rooms are well appointed, including bathrobes, hair dryer, fan, alarm clock, cable tv and even ear plugs! I didn't realize I was going to be sharing a bathroom with 6 other guests, but it was available every time I needed to use it. One of their suites has a private toilet and sink situated right in the room, which I will probably book next time. The house is an old presbytery so there are a lot of interesting religious artefacts. The house has wooden floors which tend to be quite loud, but it only adds to its ancestral charm. The B&B is situated right next to the village's church and cemetary, as it was previously owned by the parish. Oh yeah the breakfast! Can't forget to mention the amazing breakfast they cook up for their guests every morning. Breakfast is included in the price of the room and is tryly amazing. Coffee, tea, or orange juice, followed by what seemed like a 5 course meal of banana nut bread, granola yogurt, fruit salad, french toast and a wonderful egg with ham, potatoes and dijonnaise sauce. It was so good I'd go back just for the breakfast! The presentation was also amazing. Finally I recommend this great little bed and breakfast to anyone who needs to sleep in this area and I'll probably stay here again.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Gite Temperence for a valentine's weekend in the country. We were extremely impressed with how welcoming and helpful out hosts were. We felt like a part of their family that came to visit! The couple has worked in tourism a long time (so have the expertise) but also like to be close to their customers and gave us all sorts of advice about what to do in the area. Even Filou, the little bichon dog, was very welcoming (and quiet). The suite "7e ciel" was very comfortable, clean, quiet and included a huge bathroom with an amazing bath for 2. You get your own key to the room and the house so you can get back at any hour (not that the nightlife is anything to be excited about in the area). The breakfast was just fabulous. It was a great venue, one of my best B&B experiences ever. The only downside is that we went there to go into Parc de la Mauricie and we realized after that the best entrance for snowshoeing is actually 30 minutes away. Oh well. That gave us time to digest the generous breakfast.

I had a very pleasant stay at La Temperance in September 2012 (3 nights)! The rooms are perfectly clean, so is the bathroom. I was not sleeping in the most expensive room, but the bed was perfect (and I have huge back problems so I really can tell). The place is quiet, and in the evening they did set a fire outside and everyone was out talking and just enjoying the night. The breakfast is just huge, delicious, and different every morning! Johanne spends hours in her kitchen finding new ideas and ways to make your stay perfect. It's too bad they don't make dinner that would be very convenient and obviously delicious. If you stay more than 2/3 nights it becomes complicated finding a nice restaurant not far from the B&B since there are not many. Johanne is lovely, very calm, very happy. Her husband is sooo lovely, funny and he just likes people!! I had problems with my car he took a look and called the car company etc... He gave me tips also on the places to visit. Johanne and him are truly exquisite!! You can tell that they love having people in their home, sharing stories, cooking, taking care of you. There really is nothing bad to say about this place! I recommend without any hesitation and I will definitely go back!!!
