My family and I were here for a wedding and the venue and castle grounds are beautiful. Such a wonderful setting to get married in. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. Drinks were reasonably priced. Overall a fantastic venue.

We stayed here for (sadly) only one night as a stop on our small Backroads Tour. From the drive up the long entry road to getting to our rooms I was pinching myself - it was almost unreal that I was staying in such an ancient and beautiful facility. The gardens and grounds are stunning and there is a postcard... More

Beware, don't book room 14, room 13 has a spa bath & our nights sleep was interrupted by the loud rumble of the spa. Ok, it is a castle with a house extension which houses the accommodation. The place is dark & cold as was our room. We ate an organised meal as part of a tour, & can only... More

This was a real treat & part of our Backroads Tour. The staff and owners were very friendly & accommodating. The building and décor is authentic medieval, including dungeon, weapons & armour, great hall, banquet hall, four poster beds. The gardens were extensive & full of surprises. We were entertained by a piper before dinner, to set the perfect atmosphere... More

What a treat! We had the most fantastic stay at this wonderful castle hotel. Everything about the hotel is perfect, lovely staff, beautiful rooms, gorgeous grounds. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel but we enjoyed a full Scottish breakfast which was faultless. When we return we'll be booking for two nights and sampling the dinner menu for sure.

We booked this through Groupon for a one night stay and obtained an excellent rate. Overall, everything about our stay was awesome! The room with the four-poster bed, the gardens, the medieval decor and the castle (which you were free to explore). We ate in the hotel, The dinner was not cheap but very good quality and we felt it... More

What a great stay we had here. The castle is fascinating, and it was a bonus that guests at the hotel can just wander around, soaking up the medieval vibes! (Of particular interest was the dungeon and the torture devices!) The hotel is welcoming, the decor in keeping with the medieval theme, and we found all staff attentive and friendly.... More

Firstly booking was excellent, friendly capable and accommodating. As I was visiting with my 90 year old Mum this was important so I felt I was off to a good start. On arrival we loved the peaceful spot the whimsical gardens and the horses playing around in the field beyond. So far all very fairy tale. Inside the room was... More

Stayed for 2 nights and were upgraded to a Honeymoon suite which was on the 1st floor overlooking the beautiful garden. Large 4 poster bed with huge bath and a lovely room with everything you need. Surroundings are beautiful and easy to find but sadly the weather was not great on the Saturday so could not enjoy much outside. Had... More
