After having Read the reviews I nearly canceled my stay at the Lodge hotel, I'm glad I didn't as I've just had a lovely weekend all. This hotel is fine, cheap no frills but it was £65 in peak season so I wasn't expecting 5 star luxury. Walking through the hotel first impressions - I found it strange it was... More

We booked this hotel a week before we were due to stay on 1 July 2016. They rang me 3 days prior to our stay to say that the Hotel was fully booked and we could not stay there despite the fact that we got a confirmed reservation. The only option they offered us was another hotel 45 Minutes Drive... More

Im going to start with the good points. Me and my boyfriend booked this hotel as a last minute break after he had a road accident breaking his leg and wrist, as a little cheer up trip. We were really happy with how close to Salcombe this was and how easy to find the hotel also was. Bad points: Once... More

When we first arrived, and found the rather tight to manoeuvre car park, the main door (at back of hotel) was unlocked so no need to use the four digit passcode given!, our room 4 allocated for us wasn't ready as beds unmade, debris left from previous occupiers, etc. but phone call to nice, friendly housekeeper informed us that room... A terrible experience. There was no key awaiting us. None of the people listed as contact phone numbers were helpful or could do anything to assist. When we walked into the building anyway (showing that it wasn't secure) it was freezing and after again ringing around people listed as contacts we realised there was no chance of getting heating turned... I came here with a low opinion as the reviews were not great but due to so many places being booked we thought how bad can one night be. On arrival we managed to work out the self check in. The room needs paint work and behind the bed the shelf has dust and hair on so a clean would... More

The initial problem we found was that we had booked this venue under the name 'Marlborough House' so spent a good 5-10 minutes driving around in circles. Though being advised we would be 'welcomed' to the house, this did not happen. We had a problem with finding house keys so as not to leave it unlocked whilst not there. Putting... More

We were looking for Marlborough house rather then the lodge which caused a little confusion at the beginning but this made a good ice breaker for the members of the party who had not met each other before. I can not stress enough that this is not perfect, but if you are after that then stop looking for value for... More

There is just so much wrong with the Lodge 'Boutique Hotel' it is difficult to know where to begin! On arrival in Malborough it is difficult to locate and having found it, the car park is small and extremely difficult to access. Things did not bode well when we met another guest in the car park who described it as... More
