Wow! What can I say, this hotel is an absolute gem! We are approaching the end of our 12 day stay and are already planning our return trip.

Whilst everything is amazing, I must first highlight how wonderful the staff here are. They truly go above and beyond to ensure you have a wonderful stay. We were warmly welcomed by night reception staff with a refreshing cold towel and drink. Staff members who I would particularly like to highlight are Waew, Susy, Rain, Wi, King, Pai, Korn - this is by no means a poor reflection on those not mentioned but I did not get all names. A wonderful lady on reception helped us with all of our excursions, all of which went smoothly. My husband and I also had a wonderful massage in the spa and I also had a full body polish, both of which were fabulous.

We really enjoyed the complimentary boat long tail boat trip to pig island! What an experience!

Moving onto the rooms, we opted to stay in a family suite without a pool as we have found we have not used private pools at previous hotels, preferring the vibe at the communal pools. The room is fantastic, very spacious and very well equipped with large fridge freezer, hairdryer, robes, beach bag, flip flops, an array of toiletries, tea & coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board. The huge bed and pillows are so comfy!

The food here is fabulous, the chefs are amazing! One lady in particular always gives me a wave and a smile from the kitchen. Cocktails are very good too, King and Korn are the best at mixing up a delight!

Yes the hotel is away from the hustle and bustle, however there is plenty to occupy you if you wish and you are about 20mins drive to Lamai, which is busy. When we visited Lamai, we enjoyed it but couldn’t wait to get back to the tranquility of the hotel!

My husband has also made use of the gym during our stay and he is really impressed with it.

We will be returning home feeling very rested and rejuvenated. After a very stressful couple of years, due to my husband being diagnosed with cancer and myself also having health issues, we really wanted to visit Thailand to reset both physically and mentally. Avani + Samui has absolutely delivered on this.

Finally, I really would like to do a special mention for Waew & Susy who truly are angels. They really are the kindest, sweetest ladies who now hold a special place in our hearts. The General Manager, Stephan, is a really lovely person and I am sure he is very proud of all of his staff. Thank you Avani + Samui Team, you’re all amazing! Until the next time, Lesley & Vinnie Room 410 xxx

We visited Avani Samui this month for 5 days. We were instantly impressed when our private transfer showed up in a minivan, equipped with WiFi and bottles water for us. And that set the tone for the remaining days.

When we arrived, we were welcomed by a very polite and lovely lady who gave us cold towels and fresh mango lollipops. She made us download the HandiGo app which we used regularly throughout our stay to chat with staff, request water and room service etc.

We initially had a swim up room, but were offered an upgrade to a seafront room for 2000 baht per night. Although the initial room was lovely, we couldn’t resist the upgrade as we really wanted our own private garden, with a pool, sun chairs and the fact that it backed on to the beach sold it.

Breakfast at Avani Samui is AMAZING. Freshly cooked meals, as well as a buffet of pastries, fresh fruit, smoothies and more. They really spoilt us.

There were various events on through the week, such as a fire show and bbq. We also took advantage of the free shuttle to the busier beaches and the free longboat to Koh Madasum aka Piggy Island (which was one of my favourite days in Koh Samui and I highly recommend it!)

Only negative is how secluded you are, as you’re on the very south of the island - most attractions are north so it can be pricey to get there. They do offer the free shuttle and the trip to the night market was 200 baht pp which is reasonable. The prices for food and drink are expensive, and you can be a tad bored. For us 5 days was perfect.

The staff were so polite and friendly, food was fresh, rooms were amazing and immaculate. Really cannot say enough good things about this place!

This is a modern hotel clad in contemporary/refreshing blue situated in the south-western corner of Koh Samui. It takes a little less than an hour to get here from the Northern Pier or the Airport.
Due to its remote location, there are no 'villages' or alternative shops/restaurants within 5-10 minutes walk. All food must be had at its restaurant, but take note that the restaurant is superb. They do the basics (Thai salads, satays, soups, curries) very well. They also have specials (lobsters, whole fish) that are phenomenal. We did not touch the western menu, but it should be fine too.
They also throw in a complimentary longboat ride during your stay. It takes 20 minutes to transport you to a snorkelling site and then a nice beach where there are (cute) pigs roaming around. Remember to bring some cash to buy coconuts or other drinks at the beach.
Service is very good. They fixed our air conditioning noise within 30 minutes and made sure we were taken care of.

The hotel beach leaves a little to be desired. Maybe they can groom it a little. It's not really a swimming beach, but at low tide, you can hunt for crabs and shells on the mudflats.

We recently stayed at the Avani+ Samui and it really was fantastic.

The hotel itself is so idilic, with wonderful food and very lovely accommodation. The breakfast is amazing with great options cooked fresh for you. The gym is great and they have some really good classes throughout the week!

My only minor negative is how far away you are from anything. You really have to spend all your time in the hotel, which obviously leads to spending more money as the hotel is more expensive than local Thai bars and restaurants.

We went on a few free days trips organised by the hotel.. to Koh Matsum (pig island) and to Lamai (closest ‘busy’ town which was around 35 mins away by car).

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to relax and is happy to stay within the hotel itself.

Thanks.

This hotel is quite far from town but they offer complimentary shuttle service from hotel to Lamai and Chaweng Beach.

It takes only 2 minutes from our room to the beach. The room is really nice and clean. I really appreciate their warm welcome and small details in the room they care. The staff is very helpful.

Floating breakfast is available but you need to book and pay 590฿ for 2 persons. Delicious and colorful dishes.

The hotel can arrange Koh Tan & Koh Madsum trip but we think the weather is not good today. So sad but ok. We can go there another day as we will be staying in Koh Samui for 1 week.

Thank you and hope to see you all again :D

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Avani+ Samui. There were a few maintenance issues we encountered and whilst we were not compensated with "something special" as promised, each issue was dealt with quickly.

The location is a taxi ride from any sort of supermarket, so make sure you stock up with any supplies you may need for your stay on the way, or you will find the cost of the taxi's will soon add up. Additionally, we were charged over and above what was in our package including including someone else's lunch. Make sure you check your invoice against all of the receipts they have for your stay. It is a little mundane and not something you want to do on your outgoing day, but could save you quite a lot of money as it did us.

We personally did not swim in the ocean. It did not look very enticing at all despite the photos on the internet showing otherwise, however, as we had our own pool (the resort has two as well for all to use) we found our own private oasis quite enjoyable both day and night and a lovely way to cool off quickly jumping from your bedroom straight in to the pool.

The manager, Stephan joined the resort in May and comes with a wealth of knowledge. He has high aspirations for improving some aspects of the resort which will be welcomed by all who stay in the future I am sure. I don't think I have ever stayed in a resort where the manager meets and greets each and every guest. He makes a point of making you feel welcome and is also quite the comedian.

Also, a big shout out to our house keeper Tom. She made sure our bed was super crispy each night. The villa cleaned within an inch of its life and her big beaming smile was always something to look forward to. Furthermore, the restaurant staff were incredible. Elvis (Pop) who every now and then would appear with his guitar, or simply break out into song was always so happy and bubbly. Chef was happy to cook something special should you request so.

And then there was little Suay. We looked forward to her welcoming us every night to dinner. Her giggle was infectious, her English was very good and Suay showed interest in learning more words to add to her vocabulary. She was always so genuine, hospitable and if we could have put her in our suit case, we would have bought her back to Australia with us.

There is a little wild cat I named Puss Puss of whom lives around the shrine in the car park. Absolutely terrified at first, would not have anything to do with me, however by the end of our 12 day visit, she was eating out of my hand, wanting back pats and purring. If you visit Avani, call out to puss puss in the early morning, you should hear her meow. Keep calling. She loves 50% milk %50 water, prawns, sausages and pork/chicken. Note: She does not like poached eggs. So any leftovers from your breakfast, she will gladly help you finish off.

We came in March, weather was very nice early to mid 30s. Avani welcome you with a cold towel and drink (as it’s hot) and are all very helpfully and friendly.

Rooms very well maintained and we had a pool room which is VERY RECOMMENDED - step out of your sliding door and your straight in.

It’s a very quiet hotel centred around health and vitality but don’t let that put you off :). Food really nice and well priced. Breakfast is very nice with lots of options. However if you are a wine drinker - get a second mortgage (1900b for a bottle / £45)

Free boat trip to Ko matsu well with it for 2 hours of beach, pigs and stunning views.

We booked the Avani+ for our first seven nights on Koh Samui with the sandbox program. It turned out to be the right decision. The resort is beautifully located on a rather quiet spot of the island. The reception was very welcoming and everything was prepared as we requested. The negative result of our first PCR-test at the airport arrived quickly at the hotel, so we were able to enjoy our breakfast at the open air restaurant the next day. In toto, our stay was extremely relaxing, the atmosphere very nice, almost family-like and the staff is great. We were also very pleased with the food, which was always very fresh and delicious (we usually chose the Thai options and asked for them being prepared medium spicy - a good choice for us). The hotel and many of its villas (as we noticed) have direct beach access, with two additional pools facing the Indian Ocean. Many villas are equipped with small additional swimming pools, but as two people from western Europe, that are afraid of bigger animals that may move, we decided to lay it save and booked a nice room on the first floor, that had a nice balcony. If you're also a guest of the Samui Sandbox program as we were, we particularly recommend the hotel, since they have a very competent guest relation team, responding quickly to questions and requests as well as being very thorough, friendly and reliable. Overall, the Avani+ was a great starting point for our journey and we would be happy to come back anytime.

We stayed here for 3 nights in Feb and I can’t rave about it enough. We were very kindly upgraded and it was all organised without me knowing between my husband and the resort and it was such a beautiful surprise. We had a beach front villa, it was absolutely perfect. The hotel app is fantastic, love that you can order room service, water, etc with just a touch of the app. The room service food was fantastic. We had a really quiet, chilled few days and we were so sad to leave. Can’t rate the staff highly enough either, so accommodating and friendly.

Thank you so much, we will be back one day

After a 12 hour flight we were welcomed by lovely staff from Avani +Samui. We were given a freshly made mango ice lolly, water and a cold flannel, which was much needed after a long day of travelling. After checking in we were shown our room, steps leading up to a veranda with a table and two comfortable seats. The room was lovely, fresh, spotless and cool, the room had everything in it you could possibly want, tea/coffee making facilities, a mini bar, drinks and chocolate. A basket with Pringles, Haribos and fruit and nut mix. Both these were restocked every day when the cleaners came to clean the room. The room had a very large bed with lovely clean bedding, sufficient lighting in the room and plenty of storage space, and iron and ironing board are supplied and a hairdryer. The bathroom was spotless and spacious, with a large walk in shower, toilet and sink. This was also cleaned on a daily basis, bathroom accessories are available. A much needed air conditioning, that actually worked and was much needed in 31c temperatures. The resort is wonderful and so peaceful, two swimming pools to use. A pool bar, where they do a big selection of drinks, you can also order food from there. The restaurant is spacious and clean, a very good selection of food on the menu, the breakfasts are lovely, everything you could want and freshly cooked eggs to order. There was also a VW campervan turned into a bar, which sold a good selection of drinks for lunchtime and evening. We ate there most nights, the staff are lovely and so attentive, nothing is too much bother. We used Avani spa during our stay, the treatments were so nice, my husband and I had a facial each, I had a foot and leg massage and my husband had a neck, shoulders and back massage. The spa is so tranquil and decorated in a lovely way, the staff were so welcoming and professional at what they do. There is a list/description of all the treatments they offer in your rooms for you to look at at your own leisure. After our treatments we came out feeling so relaxed. The whole resort is clean and filled with luscious plants, a few steps throughout the resort and into reception. The reception staff were always on hand to help you in anyway, they understood and spoke good English, there is a little area selling gifts also a large, cool seating area with fans available. The beach at Avani + was lovely and clean, plenty of places to sit and enjoy the vista. Daily longboats were available to take you out, we didn't use this facility so unable to comment on scenery etc.
Avani +Samui is situated in a very quiet area of Koh Samui, which was heaven away from the hustle and bustle of the towns. It really is a place of paradise.
