The food was oustanding especially the desserts. The children's meals are great value and my little ones enjoyed the roasts. The decor was beautiful and I would visit again when in the area. The only thing which made me feel a little uncomfortable was a few looks from the locals possibly like we didn't belong in this particular pub.

The Duck has a great reputation, so we were eager to go. Its food is exemplary. The lunch atmosphere a bit sterile, although it was a dreary wet summers day. The service is cheerful but a bit yokel (NFN?) and we asked for ice to cool a tepid Pinot Grigiot. Altogether 8 out of 10.

I ate here for the second time, last week with my step mother. Again, the food was simply faultless. I had the best ham, egg and chips that I have ever eaten. Succulent ham, two eggs fried in butter and the most wonderful chips. Truly a delight. Then a wonderful ice cream parfait with brandy snap. All absolutely delightful and... More

Had been a while since we had had a meal here and if anything the food and service has got better. It has a great atmosphere and I noticed the staff having a joke with each other demonstrating good team spirit but without affecting the service which was tremendous. We went for Sunday lunch and could not fault the starter... More

Having recently bought a property in Stanhoe, we have eaten at the Duck several times this year. Every meal has been excellent: smoked salmon with gingerbread and Guinea fowl lasagne have been highlights. The fish and chips are also excellent. Service is friendly and efficient. At the end of our meals there we are now on the habit of booking... More

We were recommended to the Duck inn by the owner of our holiday rental and we were not disappointed. The staff were extremely helpful even with a mix up on the booking. The food was exceptional probably one of the nicest meals we have had for a long time. Full compliments to the chef, owners and staff.

My partner and our Standard Poodle were made very welcome at the Duck Inn, we relaxed over a drink in the bar and then moved to our table, the starter, main course and desert were all delicious, unlike some fine dining establishments not only was the quality excellent but the quantity was just right meaning we left pleasantly full and... I have been staying here for three nights and eaten on two occasions. The room is perfect, comfortable bed, all the extras including filter coffee, beautiful cakes, things that you would not expect to find in a country residence. The mistake I made was eating the cakes before going down for dinner and not leaving enough room for the excellent... More

The Duck Inn never disappoints. From booking (they had a cancellation on Good Friday) to being seated earlier than we expected it was a great experience. Despite being very busy, the staff serve with attention to detail and interest. Everyone is relaxed and pleasant. My daughter and I chose identical dishes from the interesting and varied choice. Quals egg scotch eggs... More

Visited The Duck today for dinner on the recommendation of the our holiday cottage owners. The car park was stuffed at 14:00, good sign, in fact we couldn't get a table until 16:00. When we arrived back at 16:00 the car park was still full. The pub itself has been sensitively modernised, with a small bar but mostly set out... More
