It is on a bus route into Shrewsbury as we used it. They run about every hour from the main road opposite the pub there. Its about half a mile to walk. Dont rely on the schedule on the notice board though as its out of date. We did and ended up waiting about 45 mins for a bus!!
The pub on the main road does do food and we spoke to someone who had eaten there and they said it was OK. They dont allow dogs in which is why we didnt try it.
There is another pub called Dog in the Lane. At the entrance instead of turning left and going towards the main road, turn right and keep walking for about 3 miles ish down the country lane. It would be a nice walk if the weather is OK and in daylight. Wouldn't fancy walking it at night. We walked there as we knew they let dogs in on the Bank Holiday Monday but it was closed! Bank holiday Monday???? It does get good reviews but I would check when it opens and when they serve food.
Dont bother with the restaurant on site as we paid £60 for 2 starters and two main courses, one coke and one glass of wine. Not a problem paying that IF it was worth it. We didnt think so.
Personally I would have a look at some other sites around the area as we felt it was expensive for what you got. I wouldn't go back and I think that says it all.
