A truly peaceful location with stunning views. The estate has been lovingly converted to provide boutique style accommodation not normally found in a remote area of Crete. There are many places to visit, such as Elafonisi, Irini Gorge, Samaria Gorge and staff are always willing to offer suggestions and help with maps etc. I loved having a Nespresso machine, with... I had my doubts: going to Sougia, why to stay 4 km from the beach? Now I can give a few reasons: a) driving to tbe beach is easy, no parking problems :) b) the location is very good, immersed into greenery; c) guesthouse itself is great, with elegant design d) George and Marianne manage the place with a smile... We had a wonderful stay in Moni. It is located in the mountains near a small village with a very nice (pebble) beach and many restaurants. The appartement itself is decorated with taste, like in the pictures (note that it has not any windows, but two doors, one with glass) and is comfortable. The terrace is also nice. Beds are... More

We spent a fantastic week at Monastery at the end June. It is so hard to fine character accommodation in Greece, but this is perfect. We had apartment 3 which is over two floors and has two sitting out areas, one ideal for breakfast and the other to watch the sun go down. Being bird watchers it was great as... More

We came to Crete for one week of hiking and relaxation and chose Monastery Estate to have easy access to the Samaria Gorge area. The service at the hotel was fantastic, and we appreciated the personal contacts with both the owner George and with the staff Marianna and Vera. They were all very friendly and helpful. The location is quite... More

Room design is very well thought out. Every detail is at its place. Great bed. View from the balcony is really breathtaking! The hosts are very helpful and friendly. You'll be welcomed by some bottles of beer :) Only 10 minutes by car down to the South there is huge gravel beach and lots of restaurants. It would be 10... More

We enjoyed three delightful days in this apartment. The apartment has been very well renovated to a high standard. It has a lovely feel to it and the balcony and view we had was to die for, overlooking the valley and the mountains. The perfect place to relax and enjoy the view. There is a kitchen so you can cook... More

If you search a peaceful, quiet place, you are right. The appartements are really tastefully furnished, it's a very intimate athmosphere, you have lots of space. We had a very warm and nice welcome, little surprises every day and everything was cleaned everyday as well. Sougia is 4 km away, so you will need a car. There are some nice... More
