All of the five houses are stone built in local style and great care has been taken with detail to assure a pleasant staying. Wonderful villa stayed in the 1 bed Gardenia and all spotless and spacious. The owner Stavroula was so kind and really looked after us. The property was very convenient for the harbour, shops and tavernas. The property had a large covered terrace to the rear overlooking an olive grove and a balcony from the bedroom overlooking the mountains all very private. Would definitely return.

I stayed in one of the Petrino villas for 9 nights recently. The villa is well appointed, comfortable bed, complimentary toiletries in the bathroom (good shower!), everything I needed was there as well as maid service twice during my stay. From my bedroom and balcony the view was to the sea, very relaxing to wake up to. The terrace has good seating and a sun bed and looks into the olive grove. 2 airconditioning units keep the temperature inside very comfortable, so I slept like a baby. It's a short walk to places to swim and the village with tavernas, cafes and 2 small supermarkets. The local area is very beautiful. Stavroula is a very attentive host and easy to contact if needed (but everything worked perfectly). She made me feel very welcome. I had a very restful, stress free time and have lots of lovely memories. I hope I can stay here again and again.

Not long back from Petrine Villas, our sixth or seventh year. It’s always a fabulous holiday and a great stay. Stavroula is a fabulous host, the villa is always immaculate with a welcome pack of food stuffs. There is good Wi-Fi all over the villa and quiet air-con. Agios Nikolaos is a very picturesque village. We’ll be back

We stayed in the one-bedroomed Grevilea, which is clean, well fitted out, more than big enough for two, and in addition to the double bedroom, there is a pull out sofa bed in the lounge. Bed linen and towels are provided, changed during our one week stay (quite unnecessary). Outside seating includes a balcony off the bedroom with lovely sea views, a covered seating area off the lounge, and a shaded but sunny area which my wife calls "the beautiful secret garden" outside under the trees - watch for lizards, weasels, and enormous grasshoppers. Car parking is provided, along with a barbecue, anti-mozzie bits and bobs, aircon, upstairs shower room with toilet, downstairs toilet, fully equipped kitchen (no microwave), but you'll probably be eating out in Ag Nik. Stavroula (the boss) is delightful, her dad (the owner) generous to a fault, and Elli (Stavroula's sister) runs a very good restaurant on the harbour. Conveniently situated 300 yards off the main road an hour's drive south from Kalamata, with shops, bars and restaurants in the harbour village of Agios Nikolaos 5 mins walk away, good snorkelling off the dive platform 4 mins walk away, about the only negative is the lack of anything "Ancient Greece" locally. A really lovely place to stay, a little slice of heaven, and very relaxing.

What a beautiful and peaceful setting at Kamelia Villa! The villa was well equipped and supplied all we needed for a holiday with friends. With both morning and afternoon terraces to make the best of the sun it was temping to stay around the villa all day with a sound track of birds and cicadas and lush greenery as a setting! The village supplied all we needed for a traditional Greek holiday with a few shops, top quality eating and a share of local life. Stavroula looked after us with that traditional Greek welcome that we remember from holidays years ago. Stavroula's sister runs the amazing Elli's Taverna in the village which must be visited for a traditional Greek meal with s modern twist. Tempting not to report this magical place and keep it as our secret to ensure we can get a reservation next year! Heartily recommend a trip to the Petrina villas!

We spent a week in Villa Kamelia last September and have just booked again for 2014. These villas are just about perfect in every respect. Tucked away in a quiet area but only 5 minutes walk from the seafront shops and tavernas. A few minutes walk also to the little paved swimming place named Gnospi with its tiny whitewashed chapel, caves in the cliffs and ladders so you can climb into the sea.

The villas are all built from local stone and wood, beautifully done. We were bowled over by the attention to detail, with so many little hand-finished touches, pretty decorations made from ribbons and dried flowers, the gift of local olive oil... Furnishings are comfortable and good quality, the kitchen is very well equipped. The villas are surrounded by gardens with many flowers, grape vines and fruit trees - you can pick your own figs, lemons, pomegranates, grapes. Stavroula is a welcoming and attentive hostess who gave us many helpful tips about the area.

Highly recommended!

...... And we were lucky enough to stay at Petrino Villas in Agios Nikolaos! My husband and I stayed in Grevilea and we thought it was wonderful, very peaceful and so relaxing. As every review mentions, Stavroula is absolutely charming, so friendly and helpful. We have fallen in love with the beautiful Agios Nikolaos, It has enormous character for such a small village. We will definitely return.

If you are driving Rout 82, the demanding road between Pylos and Kalamata, past the archaeological site of Ancient Messinia, you can find excellent food, reasonable prices, a priceless authentic country farmhouse atmosphere and friendly family personnel at To Petrino at Km post 60, north side of the road. Set far back with an extensive lawn, stone building is charming and the family welcoming and accommodating. Traditional Greek food, wonderfully prepared. A welcome respite from the urban chaos of Kalamata.

This year is our second visit to Petrino Villas although we have had many visits to the area. This is the best place we have had the fortune to stay in. Stavroula and her family are the most wonderful hosts, generous of heart , kind , thoughtful and full of information . Gardenia has been perfect for us, with little attentions to detail and creative touches, handmade furnishings, beautiful covered verandah and other outdoor seating areas, with a barbeque and loungers too, all overlooking an olive grove . The little house is well equipped and spotlessly clean. We will return and would recommend Aghios Nikoloas and these villas and apartments to all .

We are here now staying in the Grevilea villa,my husband myself and my adult son.and I must say this is a beautiful villa set in your own private setting amongst olive trees there is two balconies the one off the bedroom upstairs has amazing views of the sea in front, and the mountains to the side, and the veranda area downstairs overlooks the olive trees, sitting out there its so easy to think you are miles from anywhere (just perfect..) Stavroula who with her family owns the villa's has a heart of gold!! and can't do enough for you the villa's are equipped with everything you would need for a stress free holiday and also the extra little touches that make this place so perfect!!! The villa had a full size cooker, and fridge so if your inclined to cook there would be no problem, but the village has some amazing tavernas so personally I do just the basic snacks in the villa and we eat out! There are two shower rooms one down stairs and one up. Downstairs has a large bed settee but because my son who is a adult and through personal reasons needed a break so came along with us but is large 6 foot plus man Stavroula also added a adequate put you up bed downstairs that was fine for a extra adult. There was also free wifi and Air- con in both the upstairs bedroom and downstairs the villa has very Greek traditional feel to it with the added bonus of all the modern extras you might need.
I would highly recommend these villa's and although we are still here now I've already booked with Stavroula for next year.
