Disney's Wilderness Lodge earns praise for its idyllic location and stunning scenery, making it a hit with guests seeking proximity to the parks. While the rooms are celebrated for their cleanliness and views, some guests find them on the smaller side and less charming than expected. The staff's commitment to service shines, with efficient transportation and a willingness to go the extra mile. Opinions on value and atmosphere are split; the hotel's lodge decor and amenities are points of contention, with some guests finding the ambiance lacking despite the array of dining options and convenient amenities available.

We stayed three nights on a busy holiday weekend and loved it. While the lodge was full, it was still quiet overnight. Everything was clean and the cast members were friendly and helpful. We were able to check in early and they honored my room request. I don’t know what the theming was like in the past but I loved the rooms - they’re tasteful with some fun touches without screaming “DISNEY.” We had no problems using the app to check in, to open our room door, order food, etc. Even if you don’t have a fireworks view room, you can see the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the shore. The pool was very clean and the lifeguards are alert and active. The mercantile/gift shop had a wide variety of souvenirs and snacks, water, wine and more. They sell ponchos too for the rainy days. We used a Minnie Van to get to Magic Kingdom for breakfast at Cinderella’s castle. I followed advice to order the car around 7:00 a.m. for our 8:00 a.m. reservation and that got us there too early - we were the first people at MK that day! 😆 I would say ordering the car at 7:15 would still get you there plenty early.

I had one issue after another with this hotel. For some reason- my key would not work so every BBC time I wanted to go to my room- I had to go to the front desk to get my key fixed . Also when I went to charge items on my oom card- I was told I didn’t have charging privileges and my pin was invalid. After 1.5 hours waiting at the desk as they called multiple people to fix the problem - I was promised the problem was resolved. They issued me a $175 gift card for my issues. Well guess what? I still couldn’t charge and on top of that- the took the $175 gift card from the deposit paid so essentially used my own money to compensate me. I have to go back to the front desk AGAIN to get this straightened out. I will never pay the premium for a Disney resort again- my room was $650/night and I couldn’t even enjoy it because I have spent so much time dealing with these issues.

It disheartens me to write a review this scathing of a hotel I once loved. However, the update Disney has done to the standard room are the worst! From the roll vinyl floor, thin sheet, hard mattresses, poor housekeeping and little to no theming other than some wall paper that an intern hack out in photoshop. This room had all the charm of an airport Marriott, not a Deluxe Disney hotel, especially at over $400 a night and that was 35% off. On the upside, the food, hotel grounds and lobby was fantastic. My recommendation is visit the hotel have dinner and then leave....

I loved the lobby. We enjoyed the Western decor and fireplaces. The check in was easy and putting info on Disney band was easy. The beds were very comfortable but way high off of a hard floor. We couldn't not get any reservations for the restarants. We did eat at the frozen out door Canyon Cafe. The nazi Hostess Kiersten at the canyon was rude and spiteful. The table were patrolled as if you were in the Whitehouse. Burgers were great. Bartender guy with one earring was friendly and great drink maker.

When we check-out the Disney resorts for their Xmas regalia, on our December Orlando visits; this is always a definite destination. The architecture of the Lodge (reminiscent of Old Faithful Inn) and resort itself is always pleasurable to experience; but with the magnificent Xmas tree and lobby decorations, it is a real joy during the holidays. Strolling the grounds, snagging a snack, sitting by the towering fireplace, walking by the water features & lake, and/or just relaxing throughout; this is certainly a pleasant location to spend some time. Whether staying a week, or just dropping in for an afternoon; this resort is well worth a visit.

I've stayed now at several Disney resort hotel properties both value and deluxe since joining DVC. This has to be my all time favorite and it is absolutely beautiful. Not only is the property gigantic and spacious, the rooms are nicely decorated and very comfortable. The layouts at least for the DVC rooms are similar to other resorts and contain similar features. The grounds of this place (we were there November Thanksgiving) are beautifully decorated and there are several fireplaces throughout. Two pools on the grounds are large, waterside in one was ok but could have been bigger, no pool bars at either pool but a very large bar/restaurant shared Geyser Point which was great. The inside of the main lodge was awesome and huge and the onsite restaurants of course are great especially Artists Point. Just an awesome stay and transportation to the parks was frequent and easy and close to all parks.

We stayed at Wilderness Lodge from Nov 4th-11th. First off, the outside environment of the resort is lovely. Lush greenery and trees, sounds of crickets and owls pumped in at night. The smell of campfire and wood burning. The inside is much different than any other Disney Resort, but frankly, for the cost it was rather underwhelming. Everything is a bit outdated. Carpets are dirty. The ramp to and from the lobby is a bit difficult to navigate with a luggage cart and small children. Our room faced the pool which was nice, but it had a musty odor. The beds were about 3 feet off the ground and our middle child fell off in the middle of the night and split his head open on the hardwood floor. Not real safe for small children. The floor we stayed on was terribly noisy from about 0600 until after midnight some nights. Kids screaming and running up and down the halls, adults talking loud, laughing and even arguing. Toilets flushing and showers running....the list goes on. We came back to nap one day and the music and bass at the pool was so loud we couldn't sleep. Tried to sit outside with my husband on our first night after our kids went to bed and the girl on the balcony right next to us (only separated partially by a partition) was smoking marijuana with the wind blowing in our direction. So our room then wreaked of weed with our kids inside. Housekeeping was just okay. We never had our linens changed once and for a family of 5, we were given 4 new towels everyday. Two days we had to call for housekeeping because no one showed up when we were out all day. Despite others opinions, we thought the Roaring Fork was very good. Their bacon, egg and cheese croissants were delicious, as well as their bacon cheeseburgers on brioche roll and fries. The outside Geyser Point take out grill was gross. I got a chicken sandwich that tasted like rubber and was definitely not cooked all the way through. My kids cheeseburgers looked like they were microwaved and super thin and dry and my husband said his steak sandwich was gross. And our standards for food are not terribly high. The pool area was okay. Chairs seemed dirty. Very difficult to find seating even first thing in the morning. The lifeguards were SUPER attentive which was nice. Front desk staff was very nice. Mercantile was fully stocked with everything you could ever need, in addition to the latest Disney merch. Food at the Whispering Canyon was very good, even better than Storybook Dining in my opinion and we loved the intentional rudeness of the staff! 😂 Transportation by boat to MK was nice and buses were prompt and efficient. It was an okay place to shower and rest, but next time we'll choose the Poly or Contemporary. Something a little less dated for the cost.

We recently stayed here 23.9.23 - 7.10.23 ,Room 4024, firstly the room was lovely, clean and always restocked on coffee. The room was booked as a resort view and we was lucky enough to be able to see a little bit of the fireworks. The room was located a short walk 1-2 minutes from roaring fork and elevators along with 3-4 from the buses. Staff was so friendly and welcoming and the resort jumped to one of my favourite Disney Resorts. Would Recommend to anyone
