We have been coming to Disney multiple times a year for 22 years (DVC members).. My husband has disabilities, primarily trouble walking. This is all over our reservation history. Usually I note this when making the reservation, but Widerness Lodge had no option to do so. I assumed we could address this at check-in. Nope. Here’s your room, take it or leave. It is the farthest room on property. 8 minute walk for me to the lobby. 10 to car. Much longer for my husband, who needs to stop multiple times. We have wasted a half day of our precious vacation trying to get a room change. Husband does not want to use any amenities because they are too far to walk. We have stayed at every premium resort on property multiple times but never again at Wilderness Lodge! Ableist attitude. Do not consider if you have any disabilities. They do not care!…
We have stayed here on a number of occasions and it remains our favourite Disney hotel. Newly renovated rooms are great and the pools are excellent. Easy access to the magic kingdom via the reliable boat service. Good restaurants with a wide variety of choices. The lobby is stunning and a lovely place to have a coffee, relax and watch the world go by…..
Amazingly comfortable bed, clean and well appointed bathroom. Large spacious room. And a few food options. So much better than we had expected. Also the atmosphere was so much fun, really transports you to another world!
I went here for my birthday and The resort experience Itself was incredible the food was magnificent and the hospitality was amazing. Great disney magic as always and The lodge interior was so magical yet took me back to the western times. With Native American art and headdress to the patterns on the walls.
This resort is not only beautiful!!! Its cozy environment makes you feel like walking around and relaxing in one of their amazing fireplaces. There’s a boat that will take you to magic kingdom in less than 10 minutes. The busses pick up quip for the other parks. All cast members are super friendly! The manager Ken at the front desk was so accommodating when my husband needed help due to a foot injury. This resort is VERY DISABILITY FRIENDLY. My husband needed to be on a scooter and crutches while on our trip. All restaurants and walking areas are wheelchair accessible. Love love LOVE this resort. We will return!!
Wow! What a great resort! We loved staying here. We were a family of four traveling with grandparents and booked a 2BR "villa" and it was perfect. The room was well appointed with everything we needed for our stay. The resort was immaculate and just what we wanted. It was a little calmer and sleepier (in a good way) compared to some of the other resorts we've visited on property. The food options were good and the mercantile was well stocked. It will be difficult not to book another stay at this resort on our next Disney trip. We only wish the geyser in the lobby had been working.
We are Disney Vacation Club owners for about 20 years. We have come to Disney at least twice a year since. We have stayed at all of the resorts over the years and have fantastic trips with our family and friends. Our most recent trip last week was not “Magical “. Our credit card was compromised and used on property and then immediately on several sites including Amazon for thousands of dollars. This is at least the second time this has happened at the Wilderness Lodge. Our credit card company alerted us immediately and confirmed it happened there. The only time and place we used the card was to put it on file for room charges etc. When my wife asked to speak to a manager in site, they were busy. A couple hours later they came to the room and the only resolution they offered was to go to the orange county Police Department. Nothing else they could do for us. My wife has cents called several times trying to reach somebody at the wilderness Lodge but have to go through Central reservations. Be put on hold several times and still promise to have a call back and no callback days later. Certainly not the same Disney that we bought into 20 years ago may consider selling our DVC membership. We also on Marriott, making sitter buying more and spend more time there. I would hope to have some person from Disney reach out and offer a resolution. Throwing their hands up and say nothing we can do after the second time this has happened at the particular resort is not why people spend thousands to stay there.…
This is a beautiful resort especially when the Christmas decorations are up. The grounds are immaculate and it provides two pools to enjoy as well as plenty of choice of restaurants and amenities including a well-stocked gift shop with snacks and groceries. The room was beautiful and we were happy to see the magic kingdom fireworks in the evening if we were back during that time. The resort is in a great location, especially if you’re headed to magic kingdom. The only let down is that if you’re going to the park in the middle of the day, make sure to factor in an extra 15 minutes onto your journey as you’ll likely stop at fort wilderness right at the back of the campground and out again which adds quite a lot of time onto the journey. The main drawback which seems to be echoed elsewhere is mousekeeping. We were initially asked if we’d like to opt out of this, however they’d provide no incentive to do this like they used to do in the past! We’d obviously need this as we were staying 11 days. The beds were made daily with our towels folded and kitchenette restocked with cups etc. However, with the price you’re paying, you’d expect them to do other basic things just as take out the trash and dust/sweep the room. We’d noticed just a couple of days in that the dust was really piling up around the room especially around the phone/bedside table. You’d expect more including a good thorough cleaning every couple of days and possibly turndown service if you’re staying at a hotel that costs this much. The only other slight gripe was that the bathroom extractor fan was very loud and it took maintenance a couple of attempts to fix this. Overall though it is a really beautiful resort in a great location for a stay at WDW.…
Didn't stay here but visited the Story Book Dining. This resort is absolutely beautiful. Loved the decor and the vibe here. Great gift shop, loved the creek, and Christmas decorations. Even seen them doing crafts with kids.
Wilderness Lodge may just be the finest Disney resort. The theming, the grounds, the amenities. the dining — this is Disney resort magic at its very best. We especially loved Geyser Point and the boat ride to MK. Of course, what really makes this place special is the people. Every cast member we came in contact with went above and beyond to make our special trip even more special. In particular, the operations manager, Mintaka, represents all that we have come to know and love about Disney cast members. We simply can’t thank her enough for all she did to make our trip unforgettable. This is a spectacular resort — quite possibly the very best at Disney.
