The owners made us very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The room was quirky but attractive. The bed was very comfortable and the amenities were adequate. The breakfasts were different every day and were real "homemade" offers included French toast, waffles and lots of exotic fresh fruits.

Lovely place to stay - quiet, very clean and comfortable; very nice decor - rustic while also being contemporary. Delightfully welcoming hosts Natalie and Jeff. There seem to be just three guest rooms, of varying sizes. Semi-outdoor dining area is quite special - enclosed yet open to the the sky at the top. Breakfasts are plentiful, in the classic French style, ie. lots of sweet carbs, fruit, yogurt etc! Attractive small town centre an easy walk (about 5 mins away) with some great restaurants for lunches & evening meals; helpful to have a car to go further afield including the beach. Overall thoroughly recommend.

I was lucky enough to stay at La Paille de Torreilles recently and cannot speak highly enough of this accommodation. From the moment we arrived we were so well looked after - this house is simply beautiful, our room and terrace were tastefully decorated and the perfect place to relax. Natalie made our dinner reservation for us in a local tapas restaurant, advised us on where to swim the next morning and was extraordinarily helpful with our holiday itinerary. Breakfast in the morning is fresh, tasty and beautifully presented in her beautiful courtyard. The only disappointing aspect of our stay was that we could not stay for longer in this special place.

Le Paille is a great place to stay. The location is great being in the small village and only a few miles from the coast. They have bikes that you can use to get to the beautiful beach at Torreilles Plage. The owners are so friendly and helpful and all in all this is probably the best place I have stayed at in France.

Very charming house and rooms in little village. Welcoming and friendly owners, great breakfast. Nearby restaurant serves great wine and food. Quiet. Clean. Cosy lounge and courtyard. One of the best B&Bs we have visited. We look forward to going back. Location is also well suited to kitesurf in etangs de Leucate, visit fort Salses or read a good book.

Wonderful place, run by wonderful people. I bought my Mom and son here as a present for my Mom's 50th birthday. We were not disappointed - the place is beautiful, very shabby chic! Great attention to detail and very comfortable! The owners went above and beyond in helping our stay to be enjoyable - even giving us a lift to and from the airport and to the beach. The breakfast was amazing - I so miss the wonderful bread! The terrace was also very beautiful and Dan the cat made it even more homely! The only thing I missed with an 8 month old baby was a high chair - I recommend picking up a pack a sack one if you have a baby (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Koo-DI-Seat-Safe-Travel-Green/dp/B0087BS81C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1411382684&sr=8-2&keywords=koo+di+pack+it), there is a bit of a shortage of high chairs in most of the local eateries - so one of these would be a useful addition anyway. I can't think of anywhere more beautiful to stay than this fantastic converted stable in the beautiful village of Torreilles - so glad we stayed here rather than Perpignan as there is much more character. Buses link to Perpignan and to Torreilles Plage (beautiful beaches) and are very punctual, so lots of exploring can be had. It's also worth a wander over to the market (Tuesday and Sunday I think) in the neighbouring village. Thank you once again Nathalie and Jean-Francois for making our stay a fantastic one. Sorry it's taken me so long to get around to writing this!

Le Paille is a little gem. Its tyle is elegant and refined, with large and attractive rooms, grand breakfasts and very friendly managers. Quite an alternative to the industrial hotels of the coast. Our best experience in this area.
