We stayed here for 1 night and it was truly an amazing place. Discreetly located on the mountain side among the flowers and palm trees overlooking the ocean. The house we had felt authentic and polynesian with a high ceiling, lots of wooden details and a nice patio with stunning views. Outdoor shower and nice kitchen. No AC. Wi-fi at...

We were spending time exploring Tahiti, and decided to spend a few days driving around the small island, Tahiti Iti. The reviews of Vanira Lodge were excellent & I was so excited to be able to spend some time there! We decided to stay in Haaari bungalow. It is beautifully and creatively designed, with the roof made from a garden...

About as far from the hustle and bustle of Papeete as you can get at the far end of Tahiti Iti a truely unique place to stay. High on a hillside overlooking the jungle and the Pacific Ocean, these bungalows are a mix of Tahitian and Hobbiton. We stayed in bungalow with a living roof, the ceiling a mix of...

As a travel professional who arranges vacation packages to Tahiti I have always heard and seen that Papeete is somewhere to fly into and sleep overnight before moving on to the outer islands. I wanted to experience the island of Tahiti and immerse into the culture. I found a little blurb in a guide book "this is an experience not...

Our bungalow (Maraa) was great, the bathroom is very well made and the view from the lounge/kitchen is breathtaking. However be aware that you will need a car to be able to go around if you don't want to spend your day on a surf board. Christiane who prepares the breakfast has been fantastic and it was a pleasure to...

This hotel is about an hour and a half from Papeete by car that can be arranged by the hotel. We stayed in the Vai Ora bungalow and it was nice for what it is. It is a jungle-style place with amazing views down the mountain (hill?). The room wasn't as clean as I like (bugs, gritty feeling floor), but...

We had about 36 hours on Tahiti before our flight home. My husband is a surfer and loves to watch the Billabong Pro - so I looked up how far Teahupoo was from the airport. 1 hour and 26 mintues! I looked around and found Vanira Lodge - Wow! Definitely one of the coolest places we stayed! Not for everyone...

We knew we would have a ton of water time on our trip to Tahiti so we wanted to spend a couple of nights in a different type of resort, off the beaten path. Vanira Lodge was perfect. The website photos don't do it justice. The bungalows are gorgeous and each has its own fantastic view. The room was spotlessly...

We stayed in Ofai Bungalow. Amazing view, personal terrace with lounge chairs, gorgeous beds. The Bungalow is open to the outside world for a feeling of being part of the natural setting. Restaurant average but there are good roulettes at Teahupoo and we bought groceries from the Carrefour at the isthmus. Tip: clean up after every snack or you will...

Wow. Vanira Lodge is incredibly charming and beautiful. Each of the nine bungalows seamlessly blend into the lush jungle cliffs they're perched upon, with the jacuzzi bungalows being my favorite. I stayed here on the last leg of my honeymoon in June, and after ten days of resorts, it was a refreshing change to stay at this lovely little pension....
