We had booked one of the small cabins last year for June 2020 but the property was very helpful in letting us move the dates to July and offered a larger cabin for a few euros more.

So so glad we changed! As there was only 2 of us we didn't use the upstairs bedrooms as the double bed is downstairs but the amount of space and the complete kitchen was very useful. But the highlight was the hot tub and the view from the hot tub - once we saw that we decided to eat in and so went to the supermarket in town and then spent a wonderful evening relaxing and watching the birds on the lake.

The hotel was shut so we had a contactless check in - the kayaks and boats were available but we didn't want to leave the hot tub!

For our next Iceland trip we will definitely be spending more than 1 night here...

Me and few of my friends spent couple of nights at one of Brimnes cottages earlier this month. Everything was simply spot-on!! The surroundings and the view from there is just heavenly. After a day spent cross country skiing we cooked a lovely meal. The kitchen had everything that we needed, even a dishwasher. We ended the night in the jacuzzi on the porch, watching the Northern Lights. 😍 I will defintely visit Brimnes again, no doubt. Thank you for the great service and these beautiful cottages!

Family friendly cabins with access to kayaks outside the door and short trips to nearby towns for exploration. The cabin has all the basic necessities, including TV, although only one basic channel. Also nice to be able to go and use the jacuzzi outside, but it might be in need of some cosmetic improvements. All around nice stay.

Nice, clean and cozy cabin. The sleeping loft was thoroughly enjoyed by the kids and the access to canoes and rowboats double as much. The hot tub was used EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!
Would definitely recommend Brimnes Cabins to everyone that want to enjoy a cozy away time ...and the view is breathtaking.

Beautiful surroundings, cosy cabins and outdoor activity with kayaking, swimming or hiking in the fjord during summer solstice time. Short trips to Siglufjörður are nice as well, just as Jet-skiing available in Ólafsfjörður looked like a lot of fun. Couldn´t fit it all in and need to come back.

We stayed here for one night in August. We arrived in the evening after a long, wet day. We found the cabin very clean and fresh, with everything we needed. We filled the hot tub on our arrival, which was easy to do, and we had a very relaxing evening in it. The location is beautiful, with most of the cabins overlooking a small lake. It’s peaceful, quiet and gorgeous. We’d definitely stay here again.

One of the most amazing cabins we've stayed at. Kayaks, boats, lake-view, hot tub and a stunning 360° mountain valley in Ólafsfjörður town. The lake is unique due to it's salt / fresh water combination. We were 6 with a 18 months old child - perfect in all ways. Great value 👌

The Brimnes Cabin is simply wonderful, was the highlight of our trip!

The location couldn't be better, in front of this beautiful lake and close to the mountains. The Cabins has an incredible peace and delightful view of the Icelandic landscape.

The cabin is very big and super comfy. The bedrooms and common spaces have a perfect, comfortable and super spacious structure. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom impeccable and functional!

The best part was the hot tube, with the amazing view of the lake and the landscape!

We loved!

Highly recommended, truly an amazing experience!

This is definitely the place to stay. The bungalows are fantastic. It is perfect for families. There is one bedroom with 2 beds ... Bathroom and kitchen. Above the kitchen there is another bed where 2 can sleep. The bungalow has a hot tub outside which has natural thermal bath. Fantastic experience with the view to the river and mountain. Nice romantic time. Bring your own wine or champaigne. The bungalow is clean. The host is very helpful and very friendly. Good value..

The closest tours are out of Dalvik within 20-25 minutes drive. There are really are none from Olafsfjordur.

The best way for you is domestic flight from Reykjavik to Akureyri. Then you can search for a bus to Siglufjordur, or a taxi.Without a rental car some problems you have in remote areas.
