Our second accommodation on the island after Santa Maria. Murdeira Village is the place for peace and quiet, no music in the daytime anywhere… heaven! Our room was at the back of the village, giving us sunshine on the balcony in the morning, out of the wind, plastic furniture is tiny and broken on the balcony, we used the sitting room chairs. The room is big, well maintained, very basic, not really a kitchenette we only had two odd glasses, two odd tiny cups and we had to ask for a kettle. The Fridge is tired but ok, no cooking facilities. No aircon needed for sleeping, I could feel the springs in the bed, slept on a duvet thing did help. Lovely fresh cotton sheets every couple of days. Laundry very clean and the room was cleaned everyday. Blackout curtains. That sand does get everywhere! The shower is very good if you have it before everyone else. A small shop down the road. There is rocky Sandy walks up and down the coast from the village. Average temp was 25 degrees, perfect. Evening cooler and sleep able.

Our air cushions came in handy on the sun loungers, there are not enough sun loungers round the pool but we managed to get some most days. The sun loungers are homemade wood and not the ones on the website, no loungers on the beach as in the website images. The cushions mats are spilt and tired but they are comfy if you get out of the wind. Would be great to have loungers on the beach or beach chairs and wind breaks.

More wind here as it is exposed, the cove bay is swimmable when the sea is less rough. Some coral and fish here, we did snorkel and you can sea turtles. The hotel beach bar / restaurant and beach bar has good food. We had the b&b options, one of everything off the breakfast list. Dried French bread jams and butter, egg (how you like them), fruit salad, yogart, a ham and cheese sandwich (good for lunch).

The pool is busy at weekend. Sunset most nights, depending on the amount of sand in the air.

We hailed the local bus at the roundabout into Santa Maria, €1.20 each, cozy hiace vans, very friendly and wonderful people. Very easy to get back too.

I spent 10 days at this hotel while traveling alone. Overall, everything went well.

The pool is saltwater and is cleaned every evening, though the surroundings are a bit dated.

The room wasn’t spotless, but it was generally clean, and the bedding was okay. A minor downside is the Wi-Fi, which rarely worked in the room. However, it’s of good quality at the reception and in the restaurant.

The restaurant (I was on half-board) offers classic European food (pasta, pizzas, burgers, omelets, etc.) along with two different meat dishes each evening. Breakfasts are very good. The staff is very friendly, though I did have an uncomfortable experience with one waiter who was a bit intrusive, making me uneasy despite my refusals to 'get friendly' with him. But all the other people working at the hotel and restaurant were very professional, caring and friendly.

There are security guards who patrol during the day and night, which is quite reassuring.

There’s a shuttle to Santa Maria twice a day, but it would be nice if there was an extra trip in the mid-afternoon.

I had a nice stay at Murdeira Village !

As other travelers have mentioned, I only can confirm this place isn’t really worth the money.
We first booked two rooms directly with the hotel but have been told there are no rooms left. Yet on Agoda and Booking still were, so we booked them from there. Once arrived we were not really sure we would get the rooms, given their confusing emails, and the lady at the reception was really rude and impolite, ignoring our questions and just laughing and asking for the money.
The two rooms (80$ each) were with no breakfast, at the very end of the village, last row, parallel to the highway Esparagos-Santa Maria.
Tea bags available but no kettle. All very clean but shower broken, towels worn out, mini fridge terribly noisy and no way to plug it out.
Terrace dirty and yeah, I understand u have 500 rooms to clean but hey, we are paying 😄
Swimming pool near this “restaurant” with really unpleasant staff; they asked us to order at the bar, the bar told us to order at the restaurant, they argued, in the and almost obligated us to pay 15€ and find something heated up in the -almost gone- buffet. Anything we pointed on the menu was “finish” or “tomorrow “ , accompanied by a laugh. As my mum suffers from diabetes and HAD to eat something, they agreed for a panini but 15 min later brought a salad…
The FOUR,4!, wooden long chairs on the beach are a joke:) Still, if u enjoy wild beaches and do not need un umbrella, head left or right along the cost and you will find a better place.
Also: they charge 15€ for a taxi to anywhere, but just exit the village, wait a bit on the main road and vans will stop and safely bring u for 1€ anywhere.

Think carefully! Absolutely not worthy of 3 stars! I don't know where to start, we calculated that the service would correspond at least to what was on the CK Bluestyle menu. None of that was true, maybe just that it's a quiet hotel, because who would go there!
Rooms - a disaster, wires were sticking out of the sockets, the toilet leaked loudly and subsequently flowed, the repair was a superhuman effort, the hot water only ran for 3 days, not to mention the anthill both in the bathroom and in the room. A safe for an extra charge, but they should have one there!! We had one for three rooms. Towels for the beach, you hand them in in the evening and you will have new ones in the morning, really don't wait until the third day they were changed for us. Food....breakfast, butter, it usually wasn't there after 10 minutes, eggs, ham, cheese, but you don't have anything to eat, lack of crockery, you had to wait 30 minutes for your plates. Coffee, forget it, the machine is constantly broken. Lunches and dinners are the same every day. Bar, only red and white wine, we were lucky 3 times for a mixed drink, then supplies ran out, which were not replenished after that. I'm not a princess, I sleep under a blanket, I climb high mountains, but I wanted to treat myself and my son, such a holiday for a reward…..27,000 per person x 2. The price absolutely does not match the service and how CK Bluestyle treated it, a mockery! ! Never more!

The hotel deserves 3 stars, it's not luxury, but everything is clean and cleaned daily, you don't spend your vacation by the ocean to lie in bed. The staff is friendly and helpful, it's fun to communicate in English at the reception and then variously at the bar or in the pub. Morning coffee while looking at the beautiful azure ocean is simply something unforgettable. The food was great, and if you're not a spoiled Prague pinda, you'll find plenty. Somehow I don't know what I would do with all inclusive. Even with breakfast and lunch, I was still full. I would probably use it only for the bar offer, which was great, one cocktail after another :-D the beer is rather sweet and stronger and the red wine also has 15% alcohol. Import from Portugal. Santa Maria is also worth a visit, as well as a trip with the great delegate Lucka, who has a great overview of the local culture and landscape. We had a lot of plans where to see and we missed just one place. It was a huge experience to come across two species of turtles during about 3 days while diving. We also experienced a beautiful Salsky rain, which was more like a small warm shower.
Not to speak positively, the sanitary equipment could be repaired more often. The shower only flowed around, we preferred to run the overhead shower on each other. But until the customer calls, it's probably not necessary to manage :-D They replaced the malfunctioning kettle in the room the same day without any problems. Wifi connection is one big fail :-D although it is free, but you only connect in March and Wednesday, it is enough to send whats app messages. That's the end of it. Wifi stable at the reception. Date of vacation 31.8.-7.9.2023. And we want again!

Cape Verde, in general, pleasantly surprised us. It's a wonderful place.
The resort met our expectations. For critics: I would advise you to read more about the place you are going to in advance and to expect that if you want miracles, you have to pay extra. You don't do your work for free either...o)
The food was very good, I appreciate the effort to imitate Czech tastes and the menu in the Czech language.... The staff is great, kind and helpful. Sometimes the wi-fi goes out or something didn't work, but it was enough to point it out, preferably during the stay o))), and the staff will take care of everything. We are not among the most discerning and chose Murdeira Resort accordingly, but it exceeded our expectations. It was great. We will definitely come back one day and if we do, it will be Murdeira resort again, fingers crossed and thank you very much.

This hotel was very disappointing. I would not class it as even one star.

To start with the food. We paid for half board.

Breakfast consists of scrambled egg, tinned mushrooms and there was bacon only on one day. The only cereal was coco pops.

Dinner was made as cheap as possible. Also very limited and served with chips and rice every day.

The hotel rooms were very outdated and the bath and shower were appalling.

The hotel pool actually didn't belong to the hotel, it was the village pool which is used by all the village residents. The toilets didn't have any water in them to flash the chain or wash your hands for 3 days.

The hotel is also a small terrace down one of the roads in the village.

The spa advertised was just a small shack which was never open.

This hotel was such a disappointment and nothing like what was advertised. We expected a half decent place to stay and some nice food. On new years eve they did a buffet which was the only nice meal we had all holiday.

The only positive thing I can say about our stay was that the staff were very friendly and tired their very best to make do with the limited resources to their disposal.

Sal was chilled and we liked the island itself.

Just 10 minutes from the airport, and 10 minutes from Santa Maria, this peaceful resort is ideally suited for a sunshine break. Twice daily, free trips in the Resort's bus to Santa Maria and back keeps you in easy touch with the busier and expanding main tourist hub of the Island of Sal. And only a 6-hour flight (from Bristol).
The on site swimming pool helps you cool down after a session on the sun loungers. And there's a beautiful bay here too, suitable for snorkelling when the conditions are right. There are few easily accessible places for snorkelling on the Island of Sal, and this is recommended.
Beautiful views of the Murdeira Bay that stretches either side of the Resort.
A comfortable and spacious apartment ticked all of the boxes for us.
A good variety of evening menus and if you are into fish dishes, you will be well pleased. The waiters provide an efficient and courteous service throughout the day's meals.
We love the place so much that we have already been there 4 times. And a 5th visit is very much on the cards.
If you want a break from the North European Winter Blues, you would be wise to consider this Resort.
And with Cape Verde on the same sort of latitude as Trinidad and Tobago, the air travel time is much less tiresome.

If you have never been to Cape Verde, then definitely don't come here. Choose a hotel in San Maria, there you will see real beautiful beaches and life. I have been here several times, but never this hotel again. The food is the same, selection from the menu, drinking water, they say they will bring it or tap water ....... The pool full of dirt and the sunbeds by the pool, but I would say they remember the first republic. I am not no fancy girl, but I have probably never experienced such horror anywhere, and I have traveled many countries.

Me and my partner recently spent a week here in December. The staff were really friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived, helping us book excursions, taxis and transfer. We had a lovely apartment room which was cleaned daily. We were bed and breakfast, and enjoyed a buffet breakfast each day which had a large variety of choice. We also chose to have dinner at the restaurant a few nights, the fish of the day had to be one of our favourites but there were lots of choices, pizza and burgers were amazing too! Both enjoyed the pool area and think the location of the hotel is perfect, the free bud to Santa Maria is a nice touch. But it’s nice to come back to the more secluded Murdeira and relax away from the crowds.

Would definitely recommend!

Ilha do Sal, Cape Verde
Dear simonstown, Thank you for your contact, we would be very happy to welcome you on your next holidays in Sal. We have a sand beach on the side of the resort that has a sandy area where its good to swim at. The main bay has a beach that is located on Murdeira's Nature Marine Reserve which is a protected area due to the richness of its ecosystems and the small coral reefs that makes it a rocky area like a natural swimming-pool. It is a very good area to snorkel and dive. We recommend to wear water shoes when swimming on the main bay. If you have any doubts or questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Kind regards, Murdeira Village Resort Team
