Very good rooms overlooking lawns ,everything you need, excellent evening meals, efficient service, nice area to visit ,quiet location. Pool water rather too hot in summer but maybe welcome in winter! Good value overall and would really recommend as a place to stay.

Rooms were very hot on arrival and I was given a room in the first instance that already had someone in which I did not feel was good management. However enjoyed my stay. Food was really good, and staff pleasant.

A thoroughly enjoyable short break. The location is excellent for walking, visiting Hadrian's Wall or just relaxing. The restaurant is good. The staff were very friendly and helpful; I wouldn't hesitate to return.

We stayed for 2 nights on a 2 for 1 deal. Our room was at the front of the hotel which didn't have the views of the cricket pitch but in view of the price we paid that was fair enough. The room was very clean with good quality linen. There was plenty of complimentary tea, coffee milk etc provided in... More

The first thing to point out to travelers who like a bit of style with their hotel is that the interior of Riverdale Hall is decidedly un-attractive. There's a sense that none of the furniture in the hotel comes from later than 1955, and in our room, not a single piece of furniture had any aesthetic value at all. The... More

We stayed in room 25 which overlooked the old cricket pitch from a very welcoming balcony. The room was clean and very pleasantly decorated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was exceptional, lots of choice and beautifully cooked. I liked the little things, butter that was soft enough to spread on fresh bread, real milk in the... More

A really nice place to stay for my purposes of working in the area. Very friendly staff and lovely food / drink. I didn't eat in the restaurant however the restaurant menu is available in the bar. The bar meals I had were really good. Decent portions and not overpriced. Staff were happy to accommodate my needs - for example... More

We had this place recommended to us for an evening meal but from arrival we were not made to feel welcome. Insufficient car parking meant we were parked in a grass field across the road and as soon as we walked in we were constantly stared at as it was obvious we were not local. With this atmosphere we left... More

We stayed in one of the apartments. Which overlooks a Cricket pitch. Great for fantastic view of the countryside and great if you have your dog too. Loads to do in the area and many long breathtaking walks on beaches woodland area riverside walks The accommodation is top notch. The food just could not be bettered Will return for sure
