A cold rainy day was instantly improved as we walked into the restaurant and was greeted by a friendly bar maid and shown to a table in front of a roaring fire. There was a lovely ambience in the restaurant and the bar, which made us not want to leave. We all ordered Sunday lunch a selection of beef and...

Myself and my other half were looking for a night away somewhere that allowed us to take our two little dogs, the cheviot hotel was perfect. Location is fantastic with a lovely walk around Bellingham the afternoon we arrived, some nice local people pointing us in the right direction. After the walk we got ourselves into the hotel room which...

A really great couple of days in the Northumbrian countryside. The hotel is tucked away in a little village which is close enough to the national parks. The hotel is family run and this shines through in a majorly positive way. The rooms are nice with all the amenities that you would expect. The food is lovely (both breakfast and...

What a fantastic weekend from start to finish. Hotel staff warm and friendly and very helpful, room lovely, food fantastic. Breakfast the best we've had anywhere. Excellant and unexpected bonus of a coffee machine in room. A truly great weekend will definitely go again.

The hotel is in a lovely location. The parking is limited but we were there on a Thursday night so there was plenty on street parking. We checked in at the bar and this is where my impressions went drastically downhill (*note that this is all to give some context to the rest of our impressions the next day*). The...

Booked a two night break with Secret Escapes. Cannot praise this hotel highly enough. The owners/staff are very friendly and are genuinely there to make your stay as welcoming as possible. Our room was across the road in The Old Post House (an extension to the hotel) which overlooked the hotel. The room was presented to a very high standard,...

Stayed beginning of November for a birthday break for my lovely lady, the minute we walked in we knew it would be enjoyable, met and escorted to our room even had the bag carried. Room was perfect, updating going on but not a problem. Down to the bar where there is a great choice of drinks and lovely staff. Breakfast.....what...

Picked out the Cheviot for an overnight stop while meandering from Edinburgh to Leeds. Situated in a remote village in Northumbria it's well worth seeking out. A warm and friendly welcome, comfortable room and a nice big log fire in the pub lounge. Good food served in both the bar and the restaurant and a constantly changing range of exceptionally...

we booked a double room for our stopover at Bellingham whilst hiking the pennine way. We arrived early evening after a Monday on the trail and had no hassle checking in and promptly got evening meal. Room was modern, clean and nice queen size bed with decent bathroom. Bar was nice and beer selection was good. Breakfast was probably the...

We were passing through and found this lovely place, they had ramps to get in and the staff we lovely and helpful. Not only did they make a first class coffee but food was awesome, I had steak which melted in my mouth and tasted amazing, it's a lovely cosy yet spacious place, and felt at ease straight away. They...
