Having search the area and not finding anywhere else to stay we ended up here. We needed to stay only one night. We were very tired having to drive from London and were looking for a relaxing night. The fancy girl at the reception desk was not helpful and did not arranged some help to our room. We had many... More

Stayed recently. Provided with a disabled room, which was not a problem, but only had a shower. Arrived about 08:30pm and rang for room service to be told that the kitchen was really busy and not accepting any orders for the time being! The staff member took the room number, and in fairness called about 15 minutes later, took the... More

BAR No ice in the bar on Friday night Being told the barman wasn’t trained in making cocktails, and when I asked if another Barman could do it, told no, they were too busy! Being told the bar was closing at 11pm when in fact the bar area was closing, but drinks available to order On Saturday managed to order... More

We stayed for 2 nights, a Friday and Saturday, there was a wedding on both days and our 60th party on the Saturday, but with only one bar serving draught beers, it was working the staff in the bar hard, they had to keep leaving to get food and other things, so quite often people were left looking for someone... We booked a weekend stay as part of my wife's birthday surprise. We chose this hotel because of it's close proximity to Bristol yet it is also sufficiently far out to be in the countryside. Another bonus was that the hotel was offering a special "taste experience" with a five course meal and wine to match. We arrived late afternoon... More

The hotel is in a lovely setting, but is very tired - there is no air conditioning and the room was very hot, not helped by an artic strength duvet. Whilst the staff were lovely and the breakfast OK, unless you get a seriously cheap rate it would be better to go elsewhere.

Would have loved to award this hotel 4 to 5 stars however owed to the plumbing issues we really cannot justify it. The shower is absolutely dire, in fact no more than a mere trickle. We also had to run said excuse for a shower for in excess of 10 minutes in order to get it warmed up, and even... More
