We didn't have particularly onerous requirements for our stay - arriving after dinner and hoping to set off after a good breakfast the following day. The family room booked was a good size and pleasantly furnished, but the sofa bed intended for our daughter was not made up on our arrival even though it was clear on the booking form...

We stayed here as it is close to Bristol, just a short drive to the park and ride, and would highly recommend it. The location is lovely, being surrounded by fields, and has ample parking. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean and tidy. The room was nicely decorated and adequate for our needs. We...

Check in - staff pleasant although distracted/not sure what they were doing. I stayed in room 306 which I was waved towards the general direction of but there was no offer of bags being taken for me. The lovely front of house/public rooms soon turn into a "pre-fab" type bolt on to the original building which is more Travelodge than...

Stayed overnight with three work colleagues. Good check in, bedroom all fine and the lounge / bar areas were great for relaxing, pre-dinner drinks etc. Food in the restaurant was good - if a little pricey. I had the stir fried beef strips to start and a delicious herb crusted cod loin for main course. Service was discreet yet attentive....

We stay in a lot of Mercure hotels, and this is one of the better ones. The staff were friendly and pleasant, and went the extra mile to help us. The hotel was tastefully decorated (couldnt see any of the tatty carpets etc other reviewers have complained about -- maybe it's been recently redecorated?) Very pleasant surroundings. Food also good...

Currently in my "4 star" room (508). With one small window, one roof spot light. The bathroom is tiny and up a few steps, the roof is flaking, the extractor fan is terrible. The taps and shower are very old. The TV is to the right of the bed slightly blocked by the wardrobe so virtually impossible to watch a...

We were told that we didn't need to book our dinner on the first night only to turn up just after 8:30 to be told that the restaurant would be closing in half an hour so we didn't have have time to have dinner The room was ok and the bed was lovely but the pillows were rock hard and...

It looks nice, yes? Well my stay may colour your initial impression. Phone booking price was more expensive than internet price (to be expected). The dogs welcome thing turned out to involve a definite substandard room with an extra £15 per night to pay on top for the dog. The room was in an annex, so in a way a...

Went here for a wedding. Staff didn't even seem to know or care a wedding was on. Just pointed us to a room and told us to wait, they didn't even tell us where the bar was. We weren't sure we were in the right place. It seems the drinks got more expensive in the evening. Went from £3.5 a...

On arrival the hotel looks impressive, its set in lovely grounds, just outside Bristol and is close to the village of Winterbourne. On arrival the reception staff were friendly but that's about as good as it got. We had no running cold water in our room, making it impossible to use the bath as the hot water was simply too...
