Yoga is optional but well worth it if you stay at Panacea. Day trips are convenient and the owners, Peter, Debbie & Mary are intensely helpful and accommodating! You'll need a 4-wheel vehicle to get to your Cabina but the trip is more than worth...More
Our cabina, the food, the teachings, all were wonderful. We especially loved the helpfulness of Mary during yoga. We took some day trips and enjoyed those as well. The area around the pool is beautiful and has stunning views.
My third year at Panacea. What a wonderful way to leave stresses of the world behind you. While there is plenty to do in Costa Rica, hiking, estuary boat trips, zip lining, I chose to concentrate on daily yoga sessions and appreciating the beauty and...More
This is an absolutely spectacular facility! Words cannot adequately describe this little slice of heaven. Peter, Debbie, and Mary are fantastic hosts. We felt like we were on vacation yet we felt right at home with the three of them. The food was fabulous, the...More

Probably…no kids when I was there though did hear of some, especially those staying in extended family vacations where whole place rented. Cabinas set out over steep hillside so not conductive to toddlers. Some games & artwork stuff to do in dining room, there is a single swing, walking maze labyrinth, pool for sure would be great for kids, but I think of Panacea as a retreat…yoga, resting & rejuvenating…not a place to be entertained & overstimulated. I'm single but come from a family of 8 kids so know some kids need "stuff"/activities to be happy, others don't… Great owners do offer rides to beach/town (~15 min) so you could probably strike a good balance between stuff at Panacea and things in town if your kids are pretty low maintenance!!. My cabin (Tranquilo) had 2 double beds…but would have been tight for 4 people as limited floor space/size…though I really only slept there due to the hammock outside and other things Panacea offered..might ask about other cabins & space for 4. Hope that helps. It is a great place, hope you go!
