Daisy and Lolly immediately welcomed us and made us feel like family. The whole staff was supportive and loving. The food was fantastic!! the treatments were healing. The daily yoga practice was magical as we listened to the prayers from the temples beyond. The land with all the medicinal plants were a daily reminder of the sacredness of our journey to India. The cultural excursions ( boats, dancers, martial arts) were so much fun and George Uncle is a one of a kind gentleman and top notch tour guide. We left feeing loved, held and healed by our experience at Ahisma...Thank you, Thank you.

Ahimsa has got to be one of the best places on earth to unplug from the world and reboot your mind and body. The beautiful grounds and accommodations, the personalized Ayurvedic treatments and the delicious, nutritious food set the stage for healing and personal growth. I left feeling and looking 10 years younger! Many thanks to Dr. Daisy Kuchinad and her accommodating staff for providing such a sweet respite. I have every intention of returning!

I visited Ahimsa Garden Retreats in February 2017 with Anne-Marie Burford from the Yorkshire Centre for Wellbeing. Whilst I already incorporate some Ayurvedic principles into my life I wasn't quite sure what to expect but I have to say that Ahimsa completely blew me away such that I didn't want to leave. The facilities for yoga are excellent with two stunning yoga studios perched high up so that the view looks out over the treetops and enables you to witness the most breath-taking sunrises. And of course, let's not forget the Ayurvedic treatments, the like of which I've never experienced before. The knowledge and attention afforded to you by Dr Nair, the Ayurvedic doctor, and his therapists is outstanding and, although a little uncomfortable at the beginning, after a few days the effects of the daily two hour treatments begin to be felt and any stress or tension melts away. On the last three days of my stay I was lucky enough to experience the wonderful Shirodhara which calms the nervous system and opens the third eye and this was very special indeed. I am absolutely sure you would be hard-pressed to find better treatments anywhere in the world. Mealtimes at Ahimsa were a special experience for many reasons. Firstly, there was the wonderful Keralan vegetarian food which was beautifully cooked and the porridge for breakfast was like no other I've ever tasted! There was also the company of Dr Daisy Kuchinad herself who joins you for all mealtimes and ensures there is always lively, thought-provoking conversation around the dining table. Daisy is a very wise and visionary lady indeed and it was a pleasure to spend time with her and her wonderful staff in her beautiful home. As this was my very first visit to India, I particularly enjoyed the trips which included a visit to the local convent. orphanage and old people's home, a day trip on a houseboat on the Keralan backwaters, traditional Indian music and dancing and a martial arts display. Daisy accompanies you at all times and it's like having your own personal tour guide with you such that I learned far more about India, its culture and its people than I ever would have on a normal holiday. I really cannot recommend Ahimsa enough and if I could afford it I would pay for all my family and friends to spend time there. There is something truly magical and special about this place in every respect - the gardens, the plants and trees which have been so lovingly restored, the food, the trips, the animals and especially the people. I also believe that the stay represented excellent value for money given everything that is included. It was a truly magical experience and I left on a wave of peace and relaxation. Ahimsa, you truly calmed my chaos and I know that I will be back.

It's hard to describe my recent stay at Ahimsa Gardens Retrea - I can honestly say I have never gained so much from a holiday. The Retreat promises to be restorative and transformational and it truly is. The Ayurvedic treatments every morning were quite painful at the start of the week but as the holiday went on the benefits of the daily treatments were felt as I grew more and more relaxed; the final treatment - Shirodhara, was very special indeed, I can't imagine any other treatment coming close to achieving the levels of relaxation achieved in this session. Mealtimes were amongst my favourite times at Ahimsa. The food was superb every day, starting with porridge with cashew nuts every morning. The discussions around the table with Daisy were thought-provoking and enlightening. The trips around Kerala were superb, particularly accompanied by Daisy who knew the best places to go and the most interesting people to speak to when we got there! The Convent, Orphanage, Boat trip with the fantastic live music, and the afternoon boat trip on the back-waters were all highlights that I don't think I'll ever forget. All in all, I can't recommend Ahimsa enough: the accommodation, the food, the lovely staff, the daily treatments and all of the trips, this was an unforgettable week and I would love to go back every year!

What a little gem! I have tried various treatments and therapies around the world over the years - in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, etc. but Ayurvedic treatment is in a league of its own, in my opinion. People are going to India after chemotherapy and radiation to restore their immune systems; it is unique and highly effective. Dr Daisy Kuchinad, the founder of Ahimsa, knows only too well as her own beloved son had Cancer aged only 20. A physician based in the US, she researched the planet to find someone to help her son and found Dr Nair. He is a top Ayurvedic doctor based in Kerala. There is something very special about this man; his intuition is incredible - like he truly has a sixth sense. He treats patients with panchakarma, Ayurveda's premier mind-body healing treatment; a unique programme of deep cleansing, purification rejuvenation to detoxify the mind and body, strengthen the immune system and restore balance. I genuinely feel different after a week of treatment - plus the added bonus of looking younger with less cellulite! Dr Kuchinad has set up a lovely, homely villa with beautiful tropical gardens in which she is conserving rare Ayurvedic plants and the most incredible yoga studios with wooden floors restored from ancient temples, set at tree level amidst the Indian jungle. In accordance with panchakarma, the wonderful staff serve delicious, organic, mainly home-grown, Ayurvedic, vegetarian food to cleanse the body for the duration of your stay. There is time to relax and recharge and time to experience the amazing Indian culture with a boat trip on the stunning backwaters, live traditional Indian music and dance, a visit to a Hindu temple and an Indian yoga and martial arts' show. This has been a trip of a lifetime! It is life changing! I truly feel that Ayurveda is a lifestyle to be as healthy as possible in a non- aggressive way, one that I intend to continue to follow. I now feel that annual Ayurvedic treatments are key for today's busy life in the West. I think I would have burned out and become seriously ill if I had not taken the time to heal myself and it is an ongoing, lifelong healing process. The combination of East meeting West with a top conventional doctor and top Ayurvedic doctor means you are in the safest of hands with the best advice from both schools of thought. Ahimsa is not only an Ayurvedic retreat but also a yoga retreat, with a highly experienced, international yoga teacher flying in from the UK for the retreats, Anne-Marie Burford. At meal times, Dr Kuchinad leads inspiring discussions, putting the world to rights, including chats about Ayurveda, modern medicine, philosophy, yoga and praynama, to name a few. I have learned a lot; I feel enlightened, inspired and extreme positive! All this for a very reasonable price. I am so grateful and I shall be back!
