The hotel is well located in the pedestrian area and it is OK to drive your car to the hotel. We opted to park in the public lot 1 block away. The hotel entrance is located on the side of the building toward the back. We arrived at our requested check-in time of 1600, but the door was locked. I... More

The location in the "pedestrian only" part of the old city was excellent, the bedding and pillows were perfect and the price for three nights was a good value. They refreshed our room while we were at breakfast. We parked in public lot P11 at the end of the street and paid for a short time. The owners then gave... More

Die Krone is a lovely hotel located right on the Main Street and in the pedestrian area. Parking was behind the hotel and you drive through a very narrow driveway to get there. The room was very clean and nice with a great balcony overlooking the parking area with the castle ruins right in front. Very quiet and peaceful. No... More

Comfortable room with good bed, small fridge, nice shower, access to balcony with view of vineyards and castle ruins. Staff is friendly and competent, very nice breakfast. The restaurant is also worthy of a visit.

I can't think a negative word to say about this hotel! It is a family owned traditional style hotel, no nonsense, the minimal paper work, easy to find location, and operated by very nice people. All furnitures in my second-floor room were made by real wood, blended so well with the surrounding nature. A large walk-out deck provides a comfortable... More

From the moment we arrived at Die Krone we enjoyed the gracious hospitality of our host. We were met by our host with a genuinely warm welcome and brought to our room and made to feel very comfortable. Special attention was shown as needed. Dinner at Die Krone was an exceptional experience and since we were not familiar with items... More

Lovely small town, pretty hotel near town center, wonderful dinner by the hotel restaurant outside in the plaza, nice 2nd floor room on the rear of the building with a balcony overlooking old town rooftops and toward the Staufen castle. We wished we had an extra night there.

Staufen is one of our favourite places in Germany, it is a quaint little town with colourful shops and restaurants and loads of charm. We called in at Krone for our lunch yesterday, we struggled with the menu translation a little so the owner brought the immaculately dressed chef out who spoke good English and helped us through the menu... Stayed here our first night, driving down from the Frankfurt Airport, about 2 hours. What a cute town! On "walking street" but drive right up to hotel, beware of water ditch on both sides, go over little (3 ft wide) "bridge" over to hotel, with parking through an arch side/back lot holding about 6 cars (ditches have ran water since... We booked several months ahead and requested a balcony. Request granted! Beautiful view of the castle from the room and enjoyed both nights on the balcony. No problem grabbing a drink at the bar and bringing it upstairs. The room was very nicely appointed with a king size bed, mini fridge, normal desk and chairs, etc. Breakfast was included and...
