This place has really gone downhill in the last couple of years.Popped in today only for a pint and the place looked disgusting.Empty glasses and crockery piling up on tables and disinterested staff doing nothing about clearing up,even though it wasn't busy.Behind the bar looked filthy and I certainly wouldn't eat there. Its a real shame as its got such potential... Haven't been to this pub for years. Sadly won't rush back, at least not for food. None of three fish dishes available. Nor burgers. The menu praises British pies so we tried these. Beef and ale was just about OK, but chicken and ham pies were terrible. Dried out filling and hard pastry. All served with uninspired veg (leftovers from... More

We arrived on Friday, eventually found someone to book us in, told that there was no dining available due to some problem with a chef but told that it would all be sorted by the next day, needles to say it wasn't. Our room was very tired looking, the double glazed Windows and frames were filthy, bathroom grouting mouldy, awful... More

This was the 2nd time we have stayed here. Perfect location, just a 10 min stroll into the town itself with underground link to central London. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, car park and reasonable prices. The only downside this time was that we didnt get to eat there. First night we were told chef had a break btw 5-6pm. Arriving... We stayed Bed and Breakfast at the Hotel. The river view rooms were a little noisy at night but had great views. The hotel and room were clean and tidy. The breakfast was massive and very enjoyable. Staff were courteous although I hate being addressed as "guys".

Great location but there are many issues with this hotel. The rooms are tired and dated. There is no TV or radio. The bathroom door doesn't shut properly and the hairdryer is hanging off the wall. We were here for a girls night away and wanted good value for our money. The room was £99 including breakfast between three which... More

Arrived Thursday to check in - had to wait for a while as no-one at check in desk. Got keys but could not access rooms as too early. Arrived back in evening to find very poky rooms, no TV (when booked back in March definitely said had TV in rooms and aerial socket was still on wall), rotten window frames,... More

Returning from a day at Silverstone we were looking for a late meal and the Rose looked like a good option. It is certainly popular as the car park was full and we had to park up the hill, but when we asked if we could order, the barman, who was doing a sterling job, advised that the ordering system... The Rose of York is set in Richmond, located 2 minutes walk from a lovely stretch of the Thames. The grounds are lush and green with plenty of parking spaces. All areas of the hotel are dog & child friendly. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and adequately equipt with tea/coffee making facilities, a mini fridge and ensuite with hair dryer.... More

This pub with accommodation is situated just across the road from the river and a nice walk into Richmond. This is the only positive comment I can make. The place was dirty, on our first day there were no toiletries, second day no tea cups and toilet roll. It badly needs decorating and updating. There is no visible management to... More
