We stopped by here for food and drink after visiting Kew Gardens nearby. The location is great right on the High Street near the station. Outdoor area at the front although we ate inside. Bar area is large bright and cheerful atmosphere with separate restaurant section to the rear. Fairly standard pub menu but the food was very good and service excellent. A great place to have a drink and meal in central Richmond.
I think this my 3rd visit to this place, it gets better every time, visiting this place during this current situation with everything going on you think it would be difficult to relax, but here and now it’s actually very easy to do so, the staff are super friendly and accommodating, I got to know some of the staff during my stay, some of the best brits I’ve met over here, Matthew, holly, gemma, truly awesome kids. They kept me well hydrated and fed, and being a 350 lbs Texan it’s just what I needed, hospitality at its British finest, it’s not the ritz but who wants that when you got the real essence of London right here, great ales, tasty food (and believe me I went through it all) close to transport and a car park close by for my rental. I’d say one of the only issues I had was my toilet seat in my room, it was too small, in all honesty I’m far too big, I’d love for there to be a Young’s place over in Texas, I will be visiting again hopefully. Much love. Bobbi “the Texan” god bless.…
Perfect location for everything Richmond. Short walk to the Park and river and across the road from London Welsh and London Scottish rugby. Close to Kew Gardens and Twickenham. Feature Rooms are superb if in your price range. Very well prepared breakfast and not a mountain of grease. Highly recommended and we will be back.
Busy Friday night was executed fabulously by the team at the orange tree. Since they’ve opened again we’ve been in a few times and they’re always really attentive and conscious of social distancing measures. Speedy service and always cheery and happy to help. Thanks ‘lydia’ for introducing us to hendricks lunar!
Whilst shopping in Richmond wanted a stop of lunch. Most of the restaurants still closed or being refurbished and had driven past The Orange Tree on numerous occasions but never been in. Our welcome was excellent and we were given the table and orders taken. Lunch time menu only sandwiches at this moment in time but they were very tasty. Staff were friendly. Only thing spoiled it , was the dog that was wondering round, under tables sniffing and licking hands. Not something I’d like to see again in a restaurant where food and drink are being consumed and eaten.
