Nestled in Richmond, Orange Tree Hotel boasts a prime location that guests appreciate for its access to public transportation and walkable surroundings. The hotel's ambiance is frequently celebrated for its stylish and welcoming nature, with beautifully designed rooms that reviewers find both spacious and clean. The amenities, including comfortable beds and modern touches, consistently receive high marks. While some guests find the pricing on the higher side, particularly during rugby events, the attentive service and overall experience often make up for the cost.

This pub hotel offers very good accommodation nearby Richmond station and it is located in a nice area of London on the Thames river. The quality of the room is medium high level, the breakfast is good, the service is hospitable. It is possible to have a good dinner and drink. The price is reasonable and this is a good solution for both work trip both tourist travel. Only weak point could be the noise being the main road not so far, but it is tolerable.

Dear guest, Thank you for your great review, and we are glad you enjoyed your stay with us! Yes, as we are a high street hotel, there is the possibility of the occasional road noise, but I am glad to hear it did not hinder your experience with us. We'd love to see you again soon. Kind Regards, Lydia

We enjoyed everything about the hotel, our spacious twin room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable with luxury toiletries, quality teas and coffee, fresh milk daily and a well stocked, reasonably priced minibar. The staff were most welcoming and helpful, always cheerful and happy to help. Although our room was on the first floor, above the pub and overlooking the main road, it was quiet at night with just a faint hum of traffic and no noise from downstairs. We enjoyed a light supper in the pub one evening and the complimentary continental breakfast offered a good selection with quality coffee. It also feels secure as the door between the pub and the rooms requires your electric room key for access.
The location, just across from Richmond Station was ideal for trains and buses, the river was a short walk away and numerous cafes and restaurants are close by.
There are several historic houses and attractions in the area, all easy to get to by public transport or on foot and we found Richmond itself delightful with large expanses of greenery, river views and pretty alleyways. We booked our 3 night stay as my friend had seen Ted Lasso and liked the look of the filming locations so I organised our trip around that but there is so much more to see and enjoy that we will have to return and will definitely stay at The Orange Tree again.

We stayed here for two nights and I must say the staff did everything to make our stay a good one. Our room was upgraded at no extra cost and it was very spacious with a large bed and a sofa area too. The room was on a corner so had a lovely window seat. Good shower and toiletries with tea and coffee making facilities. Even a well stocked fridge, if you wanted this. A room safe and iron with board also included. We had good choice of breakfasts and one two course evening meal included in our room rate - and two complimentary gin and tonics. It's worth checking out to book direct with the hotel as this deal was very good. We thought the standard of food was extremely good and enjoyed our Roast on the Sunday night. As the pub was welcoming and warm (during a rainy spell) we spent some time at the bar too. They also provide daily housekeeping of the room, which is a great bonus nowadays! A really great stay!

I booked this hotel as my husband visited several years ago in his capacity as a journalist. I thought it would be a nice surprise for him. I was off to meet some friends while he caught up with work in the room.

Disappointingly, on arrival, the room was small and stuffy with windows that did not open. There was no desk, dressing table or even a chair for my husband’s laptop. We were bath sweltering so asked if there was another room that we could be moved to. Sadly there was not.

The lady at reception was friendly and helpful and did bring up a fan as the air con was not doing its job - however we were both still sweltering. I left for my get together. My husband found it so uncomfortable that he went in search of a room in a nearby hotel.

For £150 the room was not fit for purpose and we ended up paying to sleep in a nearby Travelodge for a fraction of the cost. I hope the hotel will do the decent thing and refund my hard earned cash for a room that was certainly not fit for purpose.

1 night stay in London so we could visit Kew one day, then go to British Museum the next. 2 minutes from Richmond station and easy to walk to Kew Lion Gate entrance or other way to Richmond shops and down to the river. Room had a lovely big bed, seating area and generous bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff. Doesn't look much from outside but very pleasant. Breakfast was all nice cooked food but I wanted continental so the waitress made up some porridge for me with fresh fruit which was great. Very handy stay.

Busy Friday night was executed fabulously by the team at the orange tree. Since they’ve opened again we’ve been in a few times and they’re always really attentive and conscious of social distancing measures. Speedy service and always cheery and happy to help. Thanks ‘lydia’ for introducing us to hendricks lunar!

We stayed in a feature room. The rooms really are beautiful but this was spoilt by a constantly dripping tap in the bath which was in the room, this meant no sleep!!!! Breakfast service was really poor, very slow, staff had to hunt down teabags which took ages, the food order was taken incorrectly which resulted in my meal arriving after everyone else had finished!! The order was still wrong and the member of staff was then rude and dismissive. It’s such a shame as they have got so much right but they do not have the customer care skills that you’d expect given the price of the room!

I came to go to Kew Gardens, the location was spectacular , right in the heart of Richmond!

The walking distance from the hotel is roughly between 15 to 20 mins, you have the station and bus stop two min walk from the hotel

Staff where superb! I couldn’t feel more at home! Always welcoming with a lovely smile. They ensured my stay was well and helped with all my stuff and also recommended so much for me to do on my stay.

I would defo recommend this to EVERYONE !

It is one of the places to be !!!! Definitely coming back again

Visited for the second time. As thoroughly enjoyed the food and customer service.
Evening visit this time. Not the same atmosphere as the afternoon visit. Very quiet however it was a very hot evening.
When the food arrived I could only see lettuce? On examination it appeared that there was a disproportionately over powering bed if lettuce. I had to remove said lettuce to find other ingredients. When asked by a member of staff, how was the meal I gave him the small plate piled high with lettuce, and told him I wasn't happy. He said he would inform the chef. No one came with an explanation. Had someone come and explained the structure of the meal I would have been happy. This has made me questioned will I return. Probably not!!!!!!

I think this my 3rd visit to this place, it gets better every time, visiting this place during this current situation with everything going on you think it would be difficult to relax, but here and now it’s actually very easy to do so, the staff are super friendly and accommodating, I got to know some of the staff during my stay, some of the best brits I’ve met over here, Matthew, holly, gemma, truly awesome kids. They kept me well hydrated and fed, and being a 350 lbs Texan it’s just what I needed, hospitality at its British finest, it’s not the ritz but who wants that when you got the real essence of London right here, great ales, tasty food (and believe me I went through it all) close to transport and a car park close by for my rental. I’d say one of the only issues I had was my toilet seat in my room, it was too small, in all honesty I’m far too big, I’d love for there to be a Young’s place over in Texas, I will be visiting again hopefully. Much love. Bobbi “the Texan” god bless.
