Had a great experience in the Richmond/Surbiton/Kingston area - only downside were the road closures in the area - but this gave us the opportunity to go through Richmond Park more often where we saw lots of deer on every visit. We spent most of the time sitting outside enjoying the great weather and we also walked along Richmond Hill.

On our last two nights in London, we decided to stay in Richmond out of a sense of nostalgia because we used to live there. In hindsight, I wish we hadn't. The hotel looks historic and cool on the outside, but the inside is an eyesore. The carpet is dingy and stained throughout the hotel and in the guest rooms.... More

Purchased deal through secret escapes which was good value inclusive of overnight stay with dinner and breakfast. The hotel itself is quite nice but it is a bit rundown in areas, however the location on Richmond Hill within walking distance to shops, riverside and park is great. The room we had was small but clean, weather was humid that weekend... More

We spent 2 nights at this very nicely run hotel. Convenient for walking in Richmond Park and to the river which leads to the green and town. Room very comfortable and well furnished. Breakfast and dinner was good and staff/service very well trained to look after every need. Swimming pool sauna and gym available for use which looked fine but... More

We had a brilliant day at Kew Gardens walked and walked but this hotel is a taxi cab ride away approx 2.5 miles from Kew after a full day walking the last thing you need is to walk miles to your afternoon tea venue. Bus service is number 65 but if you are on a time slot for tea you... More

Room tiny, carpets dirty, air conditioning leaking all over dressing table. Corridors dirty, gardens unloved, furniture in dining room old and dirty. Cobwebs all over light fittings in conservatory. Food on special menu very basic so we ordered a la carte and were served inedible undercooked haddock. As we complained the food money for the second night was refunded but... More

We stayed for a 2 night break and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome, hotel was comfortable, breakfast was good plenty of choice, we also booked evening meals which were very good, overall an enjoyable stay, also a great location, but it was made more enjoyable by the staff who made us welcome with their... We stayed at this hotel with my girl friend thinking it would be a nice night next to the park. We were really disappointed. The room seriously needed a refurbishment, at least a serious clean. The dinner was not at the standard of a restaurant, the breakfast was terrible. They might need to change the oil they use to cook... More

We stayed at the Richmond Gate for 1 night when attending a wedding close by. As we were running a little late the lady on reception checked us in very quickly and efficiently. Our room was modern, clean and comfortable. My only criticism was that the window frames where a little mouldy and the air con was noisy and dripped.... More

Nice hotel, about 15 minutes from the station to walk. Located on Richmond Hill, comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Car park directly im front, free Wifi with good speed. Good value for money, not too expensive, to be highly recommended!
