Stayed here for two nights. Good location in Bodmin, couple of minutes walk from pubs/restaurants and shops, and around 15 minutes to Bodmin Heritage Railway, so no need to get the car out. We were able to park relatively easily in the hotel car park but it is quite 'tight' parking and might be a problem if you arrive late. We also chose it because it is relatively easy to get to both coasts, eg Padstow in the North and Looe/Polperro in the South. We had a large room in the main part of the building overlooking the town, with a four poster bed and very large bathroom. Everything was clean and staff helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were pre-booked but fine and well cooked, but would have liked a 'fruit' course option. We ate in on one night and enjoyed the South Asian food. For good pub food and St Austell ales try 'The Weavers' in Honey Street, only a few minutes walk away. Best to book in advance though as can get busy.

Clean rooms, good facilities, nice modern bathroom. Breakfast was nice and plenty of choice. Ate in the restaurant one evening and food was delicious - would definitely recommend a visit. Parking was an problem when we came back late one night but managed to find some spaces on a nearby pay and display.

Went to this Thai restaurant to celebrate my brother and sister in laws wedding anniversary as it offered a vegan option. I know lots of restaurants do vegan now a days but there were so many options (Thursday is vegan night). The food was really good and the service wonderful. Definitely recommend it.

Stayed for two nights, thought we would be late arriving so told them to expect us between 20 & 2100 as it was we arrived just before two. I went to reception apologised for being early, not a problem all the rooms are ready. Went up to the room, a few stairs to the first floor along a corridor and into a room overlooking a car park and a cottage that I assumed was an annex. We hadn’t booked the hotel for the views, we’d booked it for convenient location to Lanhydrock cricket club just outside Bodmin. Lovely large room, twin beds, two armchairs, plenty of space for our small amount of belongings. The bathroom was also big with a nice power shower. Spotlessly clean as one would expect at any hotel. Breakfast was ordered on a paper slip when you had to decide what you were having and when you were having it. I have to say I prefer to roll up when I’m good and ready, and make my mind up then, but it’s hardly a problem. All the staff were very helpful and bent over backwards to make sure everything was to your liking.

We stayed at The Westberry for two nights recently. And it was rather mixed, to say the least. When we arrived the main focus seemed to be getting us to fill in our breakfast form & pay for our room...both members of staff seem somewhat preoccupied !. We were led to our room, which was nice enough, though a little small. The bathroom was nice and bright with a good new shower. Our first mornings' breakfast was good, and we had an attentive server. But this is sadly the last real positive....when you went to the reception at any point you got a random member of staff- who either looked harassed or didn't know the info you wanted( like what you do for your next breakfast). The Car park was very awkward/ unpredictable...we came back one night to find there was only a one place left, and we were told to go into a place which was blocked by another car the next morning. For our second breakfast- we sat down, and wait a good ten minutes before we were seen to, with guests who got there after us been serviced first, the waiting staff just look disinterested/ harassed( though there were only three other guests), and it was not a pleasant experience. Finally, we handed back our key, and again curt/ disinterested manner, and all they were interested in was if we'd paid everything. We paid nearing one hundred fifty pounds per night for our room/ breakfast, and it really wasn't worth that...The Westberry is trying to look/ be a 4 star, but in reality, is a 2 star with staffing issues!
