We stayed at with Tim and his wife for one night as part of our Hadrians walk trail and found this little gem of a place after a long long trying day and although it was a bit of a frosty welcome was one the loveliest places I've been, nestled in beautiful surroundings... In all fairness we should have called... More

Thank you for your review and we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. We apologise for the "frosty welcome", but we were genuinely concerned for your welfare when you had not arrived and it was getting dark! With mobile signal being intermittent, it can be difficult to contact people if they get lost on the way to... More

This place is top notch and a real gem. The owners are lovely and could not do enough for you. Very peaceful and a wonderful breakfast. We stayed in the Triermain room. We could not fault it at all. We even purchased their lovely mugs.

Best B&B of 30 days in UK and Scotland. Great attention to details and little touches that suggest the owners were trying hard to differentiate themselves from the others. Very picturesque location with rehabilitated pub and old smithy shop set up to provide a great experience to weary walkers. Spacious room and double shower. Most excellent food and ambiance. My... We were impressed with the gadgets in this b&b - from the boot gizmo that blew hot air into the boots to dry them, to the chiller plate that the jugs of milk and juice sat on for breakfast. Dinner was in a nearby pub which the owners arranged transport to and from. The b&b was perfectly comfortable and the... More

Thank you for the review. The "gadgets" hopefully make your stay as comfortable as possible (dry boots, fresh food) and we aim to look after you as best we can. Apologies if you felt intimidated - it was certainly not our intention! More

Massive thanks to Sue and Tim at the Abbey Bridge. Stayed here for 4 nights and cannot praise our hosts more highly. Excellent knowledge of the surrounding area, modern amenities throughout and the breakfast was out to this world. Short distance from Lanercost Priory and Hadrian's Wall, the Abbey Bridge is a perfect base for sampling what the north west... More

Stayed at the Abbey Bridge to visit some realities in the local area. The B&B is very welcoming with its kerb appeal with many different colours of flowers, right next door to a picturesque bridge. As we had a dog with us they catered for that need also with kennels out back. All in all I would strongly recommend staying... More

One of the best stops on our walk of the Hadrian's Wall Path. Room especially well-appointed and WiFi strong. Welcome was warm (as was the heater to dry our boots in the entry room--much needed after 16 wet miles on the Path!) and arrangements had been made for getting us to a most satisfactory pub for dinner. They were not... More

Stayed a night here when walking the trail. It's located well for the trail being about 1/2 mile from it just after Lanercost priory. Sue was good host and provides decent evening meal and breakfast. The meals are set as one big table so you end up mixing with other guests at meals. We arrived on really wet day after... More

We stayed here as part of walking Hadrian's wall, and it was an absolute delight. The room was very comfortable, with plenty of hot water for showers (even though we were the last arrivals) but the real highlight is the food - the evening meal was incredible, with plenty of delicious food and it was so nice sitting down with... Stayed one night last week as part of our groups walk of Hadrians wall. Faultless. Couldn't believe the poor ratings given by some - they must have had a bad day walking. Spent a very nice evening chatting with French and Austrian walkers over diner. Would recommend without hesitation.
