Excellent lunch - and open on a Monday! So many restaurants aren't. We had the Barnsley Chop and it was excellent. Good food freshly prepared. Friendly staff too. Views nearby are fabulous and a great area for walking.

Went here as group of friends all members of the Alfa Romeo Owners Club. Staff made us welcome and the food was very good. Some of the choices on the specials board got rubbed out as we were deciding. This is not a criticism but a good indication of a pub whose food is made fresh to order and doesn't... More

Looking for a location to stay near Gawsworth Hall (this Friday-Leo Sayer show) and spotted this traditional country pub with accommodation in the Peak District National Park. On arrival was shown to the Bottle Room in the adjacent building. On entering the converted barn was very pleasantly surprised by the layout of the room which was very well appointed with... More

6 of us went at lunch time after a walk on Wednesday 13th July. Very busy pub so had to eat in the bar which was comfortable. Landlord rather grumpy but perhaps they were understaffed. Apart from that the food was excellent, everyone enjoyed their meal. Home made pies are delicious. Well worth a visit and they do Prosecco by... More

The Stanley Arms is in a nice location with pleasant views. The rooms are pretty clean and comfortable, have a traditional, attractive appeal, and contain everything you might need. The upstairs floors are pretty noisy though so ground floor rooms aren't that quiet. We spent the evening in the pub and ate dinner there too - good food and huge... More

This B&B pub was a surprise booking for a weekend away. We wanted to walk in the dales, enjoy good food and have a comfortable couple of nights. All this we got and more. Very nice rooms in a converted barn adjoining the main pub. Excellent menu, high quality dishes, great Pedigree beer and a most sensibly priced wine list.... More

Wonderful rural location. Warming real log fires & excellent food, pricing & staff. This is understandably a popular place with ramblers & those in the know. I would sit this pub somewhere between gastro pub & fine dining as it really is that good. Word of warning tho as the owner is/was a Man City fan !!!

My wife and I stayed for one night on a weekend break to the Peak District. The rooms are good value and clean, with ensuite, tv and complementary sherry. Staff are friendly and accommodating. We ate lunch and dinner at the pub and enjoyed both meals. Only negative was no wifi in rooms, only in the main pub building. We... More
