If you're spending time in Manchester and want to see what bed and breakfast is like at its very best go to the Stanley Arms. We had a lovely room with a great view, and a wonderful breakfast. Welcoming staff and reasonable prices. They did the basics very well - very good full English breakfast, nice furniture in the rooms,... More

Proper Old Cheshire Pub, Run by Lovely people, who work very hard, and look after their Good Paying Customers. Great Beer, Good Snap, and warm welcome from owners. Rick the Manager, keeps wonderful beer and stout, and does not Ask you your mothers maiden name before he serves you !!

This isnt the sort of place you stumble across easily, However its well worth finding it for a visit. Food and welcome are amazing and its the only place I know that serves Pinot Grigio on draught!. We had bottom of the oven lamb which is one of the specialties and well worth trying and of course the chips are... More

I arrived after a hideous journey from London. Very shortly after my arrival the traumas of the journey started to melt away as I started to relax and enjoy the wonderful welcome from Adrian, Carolyn and all their staff. The bar is very cosy and welcoming and they do a good drop of ale. Got on famously with many of... More

Just spent 3 nights at the hotel and stayed in the forest room. It was a lovely stay for exploring the Peak District. The room was spacious with a big bathroom, very clean and comfortable and every meal the food was incredible from the breakfast that kept you going all day to the meals at night, pork belly to die... Just been here for a coffee after a walk around Macclesfield forest, gentleman behind the bar was very friendly and even gave us direction to a couple of reservoirs. We didn't eat so can't comment on the food. It served it's purpose for a quick drink and we will probably do it again.

Excellent lunch - and open on a Monday! So many restaurants aren't. We had the Barnsley Chop and it was excellent. Good food freshly prepared. Friendly staff too. Views nearby are fabulous and a great area for walking.
