Situated on the Congleton /Buxton road . A lovely welcoming cosy pub . We have dined here on several occasions and every time the food has been superb . The roast dinners are to die for . There is always an extensive selection of main courses with many local delicacies amongst the choices . A real gem of a place... More

The Rose and Crown was very busy and deservedly so... The beef we had for Sunday lunch was excellent and it came with a mountain of well-cooked vegetables. I would recommend that you booked. Luda is an attentive fun host with a million interesting stories to tell. A tearooom is being built and that will enhance this fine country pub.... More

Good beer and good food at this attractive pub. The specials menu was crammed full of interesting items and there is also a separate menu too. There is a garden too at this pub where you can take your meals.

After visiting Blaze Farm we popped in for some lunch. Wow, best decision we made, the food, service, ambience and welcome was simply fantastic. The kids had homemade sausages, I don't think we can ever eat a proceeded sausage ever again. My wife and I had a sandwich on homemade bread, again, simply amazing with a serving of homemade chunky... More

We called for a quick sandwich after a walk and went for bacon. I can honestly say that what we got put other bacon butties in the shade and I've eaten a few. Home bred and cured bacon on home made toasted bread, home prepared and cooked chips with a fresh side salad - the taste was a reminder of... More

My husband and I called in on the off chance hoping for a table for Sunday lunch. Luda, the landlady was very helpful and found us a table quickly, although it was busy. We both had the roast beef, which was beautiful, and was served with a variety of fresh vegetables and potatoes, and Yorkshire pudding. The deserts are all... More

Was staying local so went here for dinner. The lady owner was lovely and friendly. The food was great. Had rabbit and ham hock pie and was yummy!! Would recommend this pub. Great for a quick stop for walkers too for a quick pint!

We hadn't visited for many years. First impressions were instant - what a friendly & genuine welcome from the staff! Not always a common experience elsewhere, sadly. This is a rare out of the way location & the interior is very homely. The menu & the food was top class. Good choice of local beers in very good condition. One... More

On travelling back home from a wonderful day at Chatsworth we called in at the Rose and Crown on the off chance we could have a meal. As we didn't know of this pub the four of us decided to have a drink initially but on entering the premises we were greeted with a warm welcome and delicious aromas. The... More

Ludo was extremely friendly and welcoming and Ian's food was to die for. The waitresses were very friendly and attentive. We ate there 3 times in one week and would not hesitate to go back when next in the area. Bernie and Chris from Wimborne.
