This is a very well run establishment. The breakfasts are excellent. It is Close to town centre but in a quiet area with good off street parking. If you can, take a room at the front with a sea view; it's worth the extra cost.

If you're never sure whether to be grateful or regretful at the way guest houses have changed over the years this is a good test case. The answer is both. Very old fashioned, down to the rash of notices all over the place telling you what to do and not to do, and some of the rooms at the back... More

We stayed here at the recommendation of a popular guidebook that I probably shouldn't mention here (the author's initials are "R.S."), but the guidebook indicated a special deal with a two-night stay and payment in cash... that was exactly the deal we got and it worked out great. The hosts and staff were very friendly and accommodating, and I can't... More

Stayed a couple of nights. Ten minute walk into town down steps or a steep hill. Off-street parking in the grounds was useful. Bed and pillow were very comfortable but the room, whilst quiet, was old-fashioned with 1950's style dark furniture and a brown carpet which did not appeal to us. En-suite had been poorly up-dated at some stage with... More

What a lovely place..clean,peaceful and thoroughly amenable. The breakfast was excellent....better than vast majority of modern hotels...each dish cooked to order..none of that bain-marie nonsense! Regrettably my stay was only for the one night but I will be back...Shelleven is close to the centre of Bangor and has lots of free parking.

We received excellent assistance from the owners. We got a little lost & after a quick phone call Mary came to our rescue. The room was very comfortable as was the bed & pillows. Breakfast was very fresh & served hot. Close to shops, train station & eateries. A great Guest House.

Myself and my mother had a large, comfortable room, with a bay window looking out to the harbour. It was very nicely appointed, and had the usual tea/coffee facilities. There were several notices, for instance, to the effect that please put any hot drinks on the mats as the surfaces were polished. However they were wonderfully phrased and would you... More

This B&B, like many in cities, is located in a large old row house. It is a lovely, well-maintained property. We had a big room with a view of the harbor from the large bay window. Service was excellent. There was a mix up in our booking, and our hostess made sure she figured it out and made us very... More
