This hotel has a prime site for a seaside town - but, sadly, it is also located between several derelict former hotels and bars. First impressions outside and indoors aren't great - the reception area is dark and gloomy but our en-suite sea-view room was comfortable, bright, clean and well furnished. The dining room is bright and airy and has wonderful vistas across the marina and lough. Clearly there has been - and is continuing - investment in this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and our meals were very good. There is a health spa type swimming pool but we didn't sample it. This hotel deserves to survive but, unless the town devotes serious investment in this dilapidated sea-front area, its future must be limited.

2 nights stay travelling for business: thoroughly pleasant experience from start to finish. Special request made during booking site was red and responded too *which doesn't alway happen) so of to an excellent start. Room was incredibly spacious, loo also (room 205 is a sweet deal), view of marina and ociea and the other half across the harbour beautiful. Dlube windows. Charming staff at check in, happy to help w all my little questions. Lovely pool and jacuzzi, again staff couldn't be happier to help. They leave you to swim in peace, just make sure you are safe. Very desctete and helpful, i.e. a charming lady tidied up the ladies changing room and took the trouble to point me to the best shower cabin. How thoughtful! Massive bed, soft and hard pillows, extra duvet. Very, very clean. Staff in the breakfast room again exceptionally professional and any wish hinted at entertained. Am spoiled for life now. I love you, my husband is jealous, it's a tough spot to be in. Thank you for having me, I'll be back soon. Thank you to all the Bangor team! you ate swell!

Situated opposite the marina it’s perfectly located. Rooms are clean and comfy with good flat screen 📺 TV but the furniture is somewhat dated. Hit and miss with your views I had back looking at other buildings my pal looking over the harbour was great. Gave me late check out of 1130 which was ideal. Good value for money at £60 a night for single room. Staff were all nice and polite.

We went to the Hotel for a meal, a party of 13. This hotel restaurant is horrible, had an old musty smell and the floor was sticky all over, not a good start. For starters I had the prawn cocktail that was very poor, no lemon, only prawns and very little salad, the mains was Chicken Mary Land, a slice of crumbed chicken Banana and pineapple that had so much grease it was not funny, I ordered a lemonade to drink and this had to be returned, completely flat. The waiter served the drinks by holding the glass on the top by the lip, coffee was also ordered and came with no spoons. This restaurant is not even second rate, so sad !!!

Was part of a group booked in for an evening meal. We had pre-ordered our menu choices. When we arrived the table wasn't fully set, people were given dessert spoons to eat their soup with and the bread rolls appeared after the starters were more or less eaten. One of the party actually said that they expected to see Basil Fawlty appear. First and last visit.
