My sister treated me to afternoon tea at the Salty Dog. The restaurant was busy, first available time was 4pm. We sat by the window, good seats! Service was excellent. Staff were attentive. The sandwiches did not taste as fresh as they could have, but were exchanged for a new batch. I suspect that the first batch had been made...

total waste of money. ordered fish and chips when sitting outside, and when they arrived about an hour later there were half a dozen chips at most, and they were dried up and cold, as was the fish. i paid over 12 pounds for this privilege. When i complained about it the waitress defended the restaurant, the food and the...

Took my mum here for her birthday lunch today. Unfortunately it was not the treat I had hoped it to be. Firstly they did not have the wine she liked although on the wine list. We ordered another bottle which didn't arrive at the table for quite some time. We then ordered a Ceasar salad which was quite good but...

We visited the salty dog today with our pup. Absolutely no issues with regards to the catering for the dog which was top notch, and the dog friendly environment is a great concept. However on our arrival we stood at the marked waiting area at the front door for at least 5 minutes whilst numerous members of staff passed us...

Stayed here with my 80 year old Granny and dog. Loved everything about it- the dog friendly aspect, the gorgeous room, the comfy bed, the quirkiness, the vicinity to town and coastal walks, the great service and super friendly staff and the delicious locally sourced breakfast. Come here regularly with friends (and dog) for a few glasses of wine. Love...

I recently stayed here for 6 nights in one of their best rooms, with lovely views of the sea and across to Scotland. The bedroom was enormous and plushly furnished with slightly old fashioned but very welcome style. The en suite bathroom was enormous and spotlessly clean, as was the bedroom. Personal touches like home made cookies every day added...

Being local to Bangor I have visited the Salty Dog for a drink only on many occasions over the past years. I have previously enjoyed the ambience of sitting at the bar and having a drink with friends. In recent times this has become a bit of a waiting game as bar staff appear to spend their time making cappuccinos,...

We stayed for one night for our anniversary. The staff were friendly and really welcoming, the bar has a great selection of drinks, local beers, ales and a great selection of gins. The food was fantastic, evening meal and breakfast. The rooms are just ok, we had a free upgrade to a service room and the views are amazing but...

Had a meal on Saturday night with my partner. I could not fault the food or the service. I had pigeon and seabass my partner had mussels and duck, all cooked to perfection. Special mention to Ryan and Lucy who were serving and to whom nothing was too much trouble. Can't wait for a return visit.

Food was very good. Lots of flavour. Service good. Hard to get my head around dogs in restaurant, but it's the Salty Dog. Very nice. Would eat here again. Great view over the Harbour. Warm inside, and they can't control the weather outside. Wishful thinking.
