Was here a few years ago and now delighted to find the same high standards. Relaxing atmosphere with beautiful views. Very helpful friendly staff. Menu is well planned with something for everyone and good selection of drinks.

We visited The Salty Dog this afternoon , we had our dog as they are dog friendly, I know it was Father’s Day and they were busy inside so we opted to sit outside for something to eat as our pup is still learning to socialise and didn’t wish to disturb others. All good and no issues, until we ask for menus, we were told that we should need to order inside, again no issues as we were sitting outside. We were then told that if we ordered 3 courses they would all be delivered to our table at the same time as we were outside, issue!!!!!! I have to assume that we would still be charged the same price as those dining inside, so why do we not deserve the same level of service as those inside? It’s a shame as The Salty Dog seems to do so much but lets itself down on this small service issue. Needless to say we cannot comment on the food as we didn’t order. Come on Salty Dog, lets make everyone feel wanted, not just those inside and our four legged friends you do so much for!!

What a wonderful place ! My daughter and her new puppy dog had such an amazing afternoon at this most welcoming of establishments! Greeted warmly and little puppy dog had everything he could possibly need..rug, towel, fresh water and little treats. The food was delicious and the service excellent. A great afternoon from start to finish! Thank you so much.

Amazing place for breakfast on the sea front at Bangor. The menu is probably the best I've ever seen to start the day, and the food was sublime. It was obvious many customers were regulars well-known to the cheery and efficient staff, who couldn't do enough for us. My scrambled eggs with truffled mushrooms, spinach and seeds sounded healthy, but the ample portion meant there was nothing self-denying about it! One member of our party who had pancakes with bacon and maple syrup had to admit defeat after just one (which she said was absolutely delicious) and was given the rest to take away in one of the restaurant's very cute doggy boxes.

Staff went out of their way to move helpful, even providing us with contacts of other hotels for the second night when they were fully booked. The atmosphere in the bar and restaurant is great - lots of locals stopping by for a drink . Clearly the staff enjoy their jobs and this is a very comfortable and nice place to stay in Bangor. Superb breakfast as well. Highly recommended!!!
