We had a lovely family meal here overlooking Ballyholme bay. The food, service and atmosphere were great and it is now becoming our go to place to eat in Bangor. The seafood starters were delicious! We would recommend going here and hopefully you won't be disappointed.

What beautiful hotel and restaurant! The room is so boutique with bare brick wall in the bathroom which is also ver spacious and then the bedroom/ bed is so comfortable, cleans straight out of house and home! You could almost say it was a set design! The restaurant is vibrant, spacious and the staff were super helpful. Special offers/set menu... More

I took my sister here for a night as a treat a week ago and was very disappointed with with the quality and standard of our delux room! The stairway wasn't very inviting on the way up to the room, the paintwork and decor was very uninspiring and drab and very worn....I hoped when we got to the room it would... More

We stopped off here for lunch as part of a scenic drive on the coastline along Bangor and surround areas. The staff were very polite and the food was good value for money. We both enjoyed the Irish Sea chowder, which surprisingly went quite well with a cup of tea. Clean and picturesque for a coastal restaurant, we sat in... More

Booked an overnight stay in Hotel when visiting family in Bangor. Had stayed here previously (as Bangor Bay hotel I think!) and had a good experience especially with it's harbour side location. Booked the American Twin room, which overlooks the back/side of the hotel, checked in was smooth and staff were very friendly, helpful and keen to make sure that... More

I've never stayed in the hotel, but love visiting the bar and restaurant with my family. When I'm visiting family in Northern Ireland we always make sure to come to the Salty Dog. The food is always brilliant and the portion sizes are huge! You'll never come away hungry. I highly recommend it. The staff are friendly and very careful... More

We only stayed a night but I could have stayed for a month. The food in the restaurant was amazing. The view across the harbour, the business is dog friendly with several local owners and their dogs in the pub and restaurant. Accommodation upstairs was very cosy and comfortable. No lifts just stairs but we had no issue carrying suitcases... More

We visited here visited here today, with our dog. We ordered fish & chips and onion rings. After going to table, having to go to the bar to get our own menus and drinks. Then I actually having to go and find a waiter to take our order. Fish may well have been fresh (as told by waiter after complaining)... More

Oh dear .... What has happened to the once very tasty salty dog. The "crispy" chicken strips had real heavy soggy batter - smacked of being reheated in microwave despite waitress saying they were made fresh - the chips weren't good either - possibly reheated also or cooked in oil not hot enough or something. Fairly basic not being able... More
