Stayed here for one night as a start on our mini staycation of north and mid wales. Didnt know what too expect and was pleasantly surprised , nice hotel, friendly helpful staff. Nice bedroom, clean and with a sea view. Not the biggest of rooms but more than adequate for one night. Didnt have an evening meal in the hotel, but had breakfast which was superb. Definitely stay again if in Aberdyfi.
Had another nice family meal tonight, 3 visits this week. The menu is basic vs what it was 3 years ago when we last came, but everything is well done and service is excellent. We sat next to a couple who had 2 complaints, over dishes we had this evening and on previous evening and were fine, this very week! Not sure what they want for cheap and cheerful menu prices?
We were in the Penhelyg for lunch great service, great staff. Food came out really quickly definitely recommend this place to our friends. We had the cod and chips which was great. The new manager Dave was great as were all the staff I couldn’t recommend this place more
Stayed in the Pen house as there was 3 of us but had to ask the staff to make up the sofa bed as it wasn’t done before arrival. The Pen house is looking really tatty, furniture is stained and carpet too. Needs a Smart TV. On a positive note the staff were helpful on reception and bar. The views over the estuary are lovely, if the room was refurbished it would be superb. Very dog friendly which we liked. The dinner in the bar is pub grub and not how it was 10 years ago when it was renowned for its fresh fish etc. Parking was allocated which is a bonus. There is some building work going on but has nothing to do with the pub. Just a note to staff that the smell of smoke isn’t nice coming through the bathroom window and loud chatting can be heard on break times.
Meal on 25th May birthday. Food very mediocre lack lustre and care we had the sirloin and chips £17 per head with starters and wine. We were asked to fill in track and trace I took the form and asked for pen. When first Drinks delivered I asked again for pen she apologized and said she had silly head ? We had meals and left 1.5 hrs later and nobody delivered pen or asked for form so not compliant!! I have fed back to the owners on the day but no response given four days later shame
