We've previously stayed at the Penhelig Arms before. As we where in the area, myself and my wife spent 2 nights here as part of a business trip down in South Wales. The rooms are lovely, they are a good confortable size with a wonderful seaview. The staff are very professional, attentive and polite. The food is fabulous with generous portion sizes. I'm sure we'll visit again. Highly recommended.

Stayed for one night as part of a mini break in Wales. Our room was superb, the food was delicious and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. All Covid guidelines met and adhered to. Very dog friendly too. We would definitely stay here again.

I booked a 2 night break away with my husband as a treat due to being unable to go too far due to covid and travel restrictions. As it was a treat we decided to push the boat out and get a Suite. We asked for one of the Upper Suites which was happilly allocated to us. The communication before we arrived from The Penhelig was superb. We arrived, were greeted by a friendly member of staff who gave us our keys and we went up to the Suites. If you can I recommend you book one of these because they are superb!! Large rooms with a lounge area, large bed, dressing table area, large en-suite with both bath and large shower and an amazing balcony with the most tremendous views. Pure luxury. The Suites have the added bonus of your own private parking space (like gold dust in Aberdovey) and a mini fridge which was handy for the champers that we brought with us. We ate both evenings in the restaurant and both nights had fabulous meals. The staff were attentive and friendly and the service was good. Breakfast the following morning was equally as good with my poached eggs cooked to perfection and lovely fresh produce. The Penhelig has done a fabulous job of arranging things to make you feel totally safe during these difficult times and we felt fully protected at all times. As the rooms could not be serviced due to covid we asked the cleaning staff for some extra coffee and milk for our room and when we returned from our day out we were surprised to find that they had left us lots of other things too and had topped up everything for us. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. We would not hesitate to go back again. We had a truly wonderful stay. Thank you so much to all staff for making our weekend away such a special and memorable time.

I have stayed at the Penhelig many, many times over the past 25 years and I'm pleased to say, even though it is no longer privately owned and is now part of the Brains Brewery Group, the hotel is still a wonderful place to stay in the stunningly beautiful Aberdovey. Yes, if you look closely, there is a need for a few cosmetic improvements here and there, but this has been a hotel since 1750 and it's still a pleasure to visit - the staff are absolutely excellent, obliging and professional - very good covid measures in practice and the Brains app system for the ordering of drinks and food was simple to use and effective - once more, we had an enjoyable stay and will be rebooking very shortly.
