I'd been contracting in Hartlepool for a while and found this B&B on Tripadvisor. Lee deserves all the excellent reviews he receives; the rooms are immaculately clean and always well presented. Lee would always make me a breakfast to take away and offered to make me lunch too if I needed it. Nothing was ever too much trouble and if... More

From the second we arrived we were treated like royalty, Lee wouldn't even let me carry my own case upstairs. The rooms were in superb condition and the choice of food at breakfast was to die for. And if we needed something he didn't have he would go out of his way to get it for you. We stayed for... More

Myself and my daughters aged 11 and 7 had a great stay. They love the family room for the built-in bunk beds complete with their own lights. The room was immaculately maintained throughout our stay. Lovely big fluffy white towels. Fantastic breakfast and always a smile and a big welcome from Lee and Olwen.

We had a nice stay there. Your room was really nice, the bed comfortable and hosts very welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and there was much to choose from. We had fresh tomatoes and mushrooms. We would return any time to Altonlea guesthouse.

Stayed here for 2 nights while visiting family in the town. It was our first stay here but it certainly won't be the last. From the moment we arrived both Lee and Olwen couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. On arrival we were brought a jug of pasteurised milk to have with a cup of tea instead of the... More

We have stayed here many times before and always found service and accommodation fist class. Really convenient although sometimes parking can be a little tight. Breakfast really yummy and host extremely helpful. Overall excellent value for money and we certainly will visit again.

We regularly stay here when visiting family in the area. On this occasion my youngest daughter was ill and both Lee and Olwen were very helpful to get us through this difficulty when were away from our own home. A huge thank you to them both.
