On arriving I was a little concerned because the car park was quite rough and I thought the hotel might be the same. The hotel has old world charm and the gardens/ grounds are very pretty. I was pleasantly surprised because I was expecting a regular hotel room, but I was given an apartment. It was very spacious and attractive...

On arrival we were made very welcome, and although we had pre booked a table for our evening meal we were able to bring the time forward without any problems. Our rooms were lovely and clean and very nicely decorated. The addition of bath sheets rather than bath towels was a nice touch. Both our evening meal and our breakfast...

Stopped over as I had a meeting in Durham, which was only 25 minutes away. I had room 2 which was pretty small, but sufficient for 1 person. Full en-suite with shower, but watch out for the step up leading from the bedroom into it. Yes, some areas are in need of some TLC, but this is an old large...

Reading negative reviews before travelling slightly worried me, but on arrival we were greeted by a pleasant receptionist, and found our room, although quite small, to be adequate for a two night stay. Our bed was rather hard, (room 2) but we slept on top of the quilt. The food we had was very good, especially the breakfast. Yes it...

The building looks impressive as you drive into the grounds but it goes down hill as soon as you drive into the car park which is a parking lot for a Car Service Unit. The surface is just stone chipping but uneven and not tended to. The interior of the hotel is in need of TLC, it was old and...
