After travelling far we were greeted, via the bar, reception was locked, with "are you paying cash or credit card" then did we want to book dinner. I would like to have seen our room. We were told it was on the 2nd floor, no lift, very steep stairs. We had to find it ourselves, carrying our own luggage. Room was... More

We went to a wedding and stayed here last night, had lots of fun when returning from the wedding, our group met a lovely man from Canada at the bar who stayed up and partied with us!!! Rooms are ok but do the job. The breakfast looked very nice. Staff very friendly but the could do with a better selection... More

I have stayed here many times I the laa12 years, at here my company puts us so we have to put up with it.. Well this year was different, currently being refurbished and I was lucky to have one of the upgraded rooms, has a better wow factor. If the rest of the refurb follows then it will be great.... We live in Sevenoaks and stayed at the Royal Oak for a family event. The ground floor restaurant, bar and reception are all smart looking, but this is misleading when considering the rooms. Sadly, the rooms are run down and shabby looking. Looks as though it has been 20 years plus since anything done with the rooms. Never again.

When in the area have stayed there on and off over the last few years. During that time some attempts at refurbishment / improvements have occurred. Rooms clean but not large in the main part of the hotel, and also close to the road and noisy. The rooms in the coachhouse at the back are bigger and quieter. Location is... More

Needed a place to stay near to the cinema/theatre on the high street. We stayed in a recently refurbished room that was more the adequate. The breakfast is something the Hotel prides them self in. Good value for money. Parking also easy.

The hotel car park was missed twice, it's tucked away down a side alley. Finally parked, the reception is ok, the conservatory is a little run down, but the staff nice and polite. You are given a code when leaving the car park! Clean toilets also. Didn't stop for lunch, but overall nice experience.

Awful my room was like something out of a half way house in an American movie. Dirty, damp, small is an understatement literally enough room for a bed a small desk and a very out dated old fashioned wardrobe. The decor was vile, wallpaper hanging off the walls, white woodwork so dirty I wouldn't touch with my bare hands covered... More

The scene was set during checkin. I had to pay in advance but couldn't be given by receipt until the morning - I never did get to the bottom of this. I was given a newly refurbished room in the Coach Inn which I was assured was very nice. Unfortunately it was the hottest day of the year and the... More

We stayed in a newly refurbished room at £150 per night but the room was small, lacked any sound proofing so you heard any noise made by other guests, the coffee machine was over complicated to use and the hotel only supplied one drink and had no replacements. The bathroom although well fitted lacked face cloths, a soap dish, the... More
