The Midland Hotel in Morecambe has a rich history stretching back to 1933 when it was designed by architect Oliver Hill. The hotel boasts Noel Coward, Laurence Olivier, Co-Co Chanel among its former guests and its atmosphere reflects a more prosperous time for the town of Morecambe. The Midland closed in 1998 and was reopened in 2008 after a complete... More

This is a beautiful hotel with fabulous décor. The rooms are clean and very comfortable and I can highly recommend booking a room with a balcony - the views as the sun is setting are stunning. Breakfast was excellent and we had a great lunch as well in the bar restaurant. Morecambe has a great prom that has obviously had... More

We regularly stay at the Midland on our way to the Lake District. After negotiating M25, M1 & M6, it is so nice to step into a pressure free zone for a while. Decor, rooms, food are all wonderful. But we think it is the quality of the staff that makes the Midland really stand out. They are simple exceptional... More

I had heard many tales about this hotel so decided to visit whilst on an errand in Morcambe. Very interesting ground floor, curving around the promenade with great views out across the bay. Ordered a sea food platter and coffee. Service and food excellent but a damp flannel or finger bowl would have hi lighted the experience.

The hotel was chosen for our daughters wedding (wedding at local church and reception and night do at hotel, with many members of family staying at hotel on Friday and Saturday [day of wedding] night. The weather for weekend was terrible (gale force winds and driving rain). The hotel staff did wonders in helping to mitigate problems caused by weather.Because... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. We had a problem with our original room but we were moved without any drama. The staff were very helpful and wanted to make our stay the best it could be. The rooms are nicely decorated. The cooked breakfast was really good. The location is just perfect. I hope I... More

We recently visited The Midland for afternoon tea, what a delight, gorgeous location with stunning views across Morecambe Bay, the afternoon tea was totally amazing, very filling and very tasty, would highly recommend this as a treat, the sandwiches were as light as a feather, the tea selection was varied and had an excellent range, the cakes were heaven on... On a trip to the lakes we decided to drive to Morecombe and spend a night in the Midland. I love Art Deco buildings so this was a real treat for me. Fantastic hotel inside and out. Decor inside is beautiful. The stair case is amazing. Rooms are lovely and a bit quirky . We did a package which included... More

This splendid 1930's creation was a derelict wreck 10 years ago. Following a huge injection of investment it has been returned to its original pre-war stately condition of period grandeur. We were part of a special Diamond Wedding party commemoration and had a table overlooking the promenade and the huge expanse of Morecambe Bay with the mountains of the Lake... More

Stayed two nights mid August. I visit the area regularly and fortunately and called in a few weeks ago to make sure that the room would be near the lift and a chair would be provided in the shower. A replacement room was allocated to us to provide these. It was very close to the stone jetty and the views... More
