Proprietor made us very welcome, gave us tea and biscuits on arrival, helped us organise our day. Very comfortable, quiet, fantastic breakfast spread and Tilly the lab dachshund cross is very cute. Recommended. Dalby forest and flamingo land very close. Bus it if you are brave!

Easy to find. Parking on site. A very nice clean room overlooking the garden. The breakfasts were very nicely cooked with plenty of choice. We were made to feel very welcome. Pickering has plenty of pubs and eating places, and is nicely situated for the coast and countryside.

This was a late night last minute booking and it fitted the bill in being in Pickering. Perhaps it suffered because it followed on from two nights staying in 4 star hotel in London which was excellent and cost not much more in spite of a brilliant location.

Hello I can't identify you from your e-mail so do not know where you stayed. We can't be compared to a city 4 star hotel - we are only an Edwardian country house in Pickering North Yorkshire so unfair comparison. Regarding our price it includes taxes commisson laundry staff wages food wifi all food locally sourced. So sorry we disappointed...

We arrived unexpectedly at the Old Manse for a one night extra stay in Pickering due to illness which meant our onward travel plans had to be delayed. The reception we received could not have been better. The owner and all the staff went out of their way to provide a very comfortable, quiet room for me to recouperate, and...
