Stayed here for 3 nights , 12 May onwards. I have passed the hotel on several occasions whilst walking in this beautiful area and decided to make use of an offer for 3 nights. We were greeted on arrival and shown to our room. The room had fantastic views to the front of the inn and across the valley. The... More

What a fantastic view! We stayed here with 2 friends recently. A most welcoming hotel sited above Rosedale Abbey village, on a slope overlooking the valley and opposite hillside. A very enjoyable, affordable evening meal, beautifully presented. Breakfast was equally appreciated with a full English breakfast for those with the appetite to cope with it! definitely a place to revisit... More

Like many of the other reviews our initial reaction was not positive as the landlord largely ignored our request to check into our room on arrival but after a pleasant drink on the terrace with lovely views we found our room to be great - clean, comfortable and spacious. The restaurant was busy but our order was taken swiftly an... More

We (my wife and I and our little dog) stayed for 3 nights at the beginning of April, and were warmly welcomed and shown to our room (room 10) which was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We asked about being able to take our dog down to breakfast rather than leave her in the room or the car and it... More

Whilst this pub received an award back in 2012, it appears that although the food is still good and wholesome, the service and welcome leaves a lot to be desired. This, we believe, is due to having children. Shame as lovely setting and could be a lot better!

Just had 2 nights here. Lovely room, everywhre very clean and we could not fault the food it was delicious. Very busy in the evenings you definitely need to book. Only 1 downside Jim the licensee when we arrived wandered about for 2 hours moaning he would be glad when the place was sold and he could leave. At that... More

Just spent 3 nights B &B in an excellent Inn in the North Yorkshire countryside with superb views. Accommodation first class and food could not be better. We received a very warm welcome and hospitality and attention could not be faulted. If we decide to return to that area we would have no hesitation in returning to the White Horse... More

This was a special offer we bought to celebrate my husband's birthday and was great value, even without the offer. Our room was pleasant with a lovely view, tea and coffee and biscuits in the room, and it was dog friendly as well as the bar area so that is a bonus if you like to bring your pet. The... More
