Lovely stay with our dog, gardens beautiful, room comfortable with window seat viewing garden. Breakfast very tasty. Fresh milk, water, cake and biscuits in room with fresh flowers, nice touch. Walk on doorstep in wood for dog, 20 minutes walk to Pickering and would recommend bistro.

Had a lovely overnight stay at Lowther House and went to a concert at nearby Dalby Forest. Kimberley couldn't have been more helpful even offered the opportunity to get transport there and back (we didn't take up this as this was independent to the guest house). Lovely hot shower, very comfy bed and delicious cake in room on arrival. Breakfast... More

Unfortunately the day before we were due to travel our 3 year old was rushed to hospital with pneumonia. When I phoned lowther house they were lovely and didn't charge us for the cancellation. Excellent customer service and greatly appreciated. Gutted to have missed our visit but hopefully will make up for that soon.

Had a lovely stay at lowther house. Room was comfortable with a lovely view over the garden. We had to leave early, before breakfast, but the host made us a lovely bacon and sausage butty to take away and was very accommodating to our needs.

Such lovely people, idyllic surroundings, fantastic view of the steam train being tucked up to "sleep" at night, amazing food, gorgeous gardens, lovely room, comfortable bed, all the things you need on a stay away plus wonderful personal touches that I haven't experienced anywhere else. The slices of cake, in particular, were a delicious bonus in the room. What a... More

We stopped by on a little excursion around Pickering as we were camping just up the road in Cropton. It was a lovely sunny day so we sat in the garden. Kimberley and Allan the owners were very welcoming and great for a chat we ordered some food and cake which I have to say was all absolutely fantastic 😃It... More

We were passing when walking so stopped off for a cup of tea and some cake. The walnut and coffee cake was delish as was the scone. We sat outside next to the river and watched as the steam train went by. Just lovely!

We stayed for one night at Lowther House and it was perfect. The house and gardens are beautiful and our room was nicely decorated and very comfortable with a view of the garden. There was cake in our room as well as fresh milk and water in the mini fridge. What we liked most though was the hospitality of the... More

Ideally situated away from busy town centre, approx one mile to North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Great room overlooking the garden, plenty of wild life to watch. Off road parking, our room was fully equipped with walk in wet room, tea and coffee refreshments. Small fridge, tv, books and binoculars. Oh and not forgetting the special touch of lemon drizzle cake!... More
