Just stayed 4 nights on the caravan club cl site at the hawthorns. The site is pleasant enough but the facilities are terrible. There was one toilet, and then a separate toilet and shower. They were dirty, there was no heating, no toilet roll, no toilet lid, and a towel that was damp hadn't been changed the whole of our... More

Arrived unannounced, we hadn't booked but were given a great welcome. Set back of the main road this lovely home raises it's own pigs and chickens and grows all sorts of veggies. The en-suite king room was pristine along with the rest of the house. Comfortable bed and choice of pillows along with lots of available storage including a fridge.... More

I am probably one of the few who can comment on all three aspects of The Hawthornes, the B&B, the holiday lodges and the caravan site. As a family we took one of each for the Spring Bank Holiday week and I would like to thank Paula and John for accommodating our very last minute change of requirements. The B&B... More

A lovely place to stay. Clean, comfortable, and in a wonderful location. It is great to stumble across a B&B where the welcome is like that given by Paula & John, and where after a great stay you leave as friends. Highly recommended.

We have now stayed at this b&b twice and it is a wonderful place to stay. We were given tea and a scone on arrival. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast is plentiful and very nicely cooked. Paula and John are very pleasant and helpful for all enquiries. Could not be any better.

Have just returned from a weekend staying in one of the beautiful log cabins with my husband. What a treat! The lodges are beautiful... built and fitted out to a very high standard. The lodge was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The furniture is extremely comfortable and the lodge is made even more cosy and welcoming with a log burner.... More

Have just returned from 3 night stay at The Hawthornes. Paula, John, Peter and Megan are a lovely family and made us feel at home straightaway. B & B was perfect, food was fantastic (full English breakfast every day, diet starts today!!) All the usual tourist attractions a short drive away. Had a great break and would recommend The Hawthornes... More

We have just returned from a week long stay at the 'Hawthornes'.Paula was an excellent hostess, whistling cheerfully while she made breakfast (free range eggs from Paula's hens, sausages and bacon from her pigs, bread and jam homemade). This B&B has everything we look for - countryside, animals, wonderful accommodation, good breakfasts, very high standard of rooms for both cleanliness... More

My partner heard about these lovely lodges through meeting the owners through work. We booked and invited 3 couples. It was lovely experience, the lodges were to a very high standard. They were toasty on an evening and the log burners made it feel very cosy. Gorgeous setting close to Pickering center and also tourist attractions such as Whitby. Very... More
