Breakfast: Difficult to get fried eggs minus the "plastic" film on the yoke. Very runny butter. Dinner: good quality but the kitchen closes early. Staff: Friendly and obliging. Room: Nicely designed but tired with lots of stains.

We needed somewhere to stay while visiting relatives, this fitted the bill, we stayed one night. The bedroom was nicely decorated, it was slightly noisy from the street but it was the weekend and didn't last too late. We ate in the restaurant which was good and breakfast in the morning was also good. I would recommend for this area.

Went for a meal here last night and felt i needed to write an updated review. Really disappointed. Very quaint and could be an intimate restaurant but it is really run down. Going back a few years this place was lovely, hard to get a table but it was virtually empty, whereas Alfreds and La Trattoria were jam packed with... More

We stayed over night after celebrating our friend's sons christening there. Fab place full of character. The room we stayed in was on the top floor with beams and huge ensuite. Very clean and tidy with a very comfortable bed. Great choices at breakfast. Every taste catered for. Staff friendly and helpful at all times. Already planning next stay as... More

my mother stated there at the end of June and was her birthday weekend. The young lady and lad (Jo and Liam I think?) working evenings on the Sunday and Monday were super friendly and hard working. I cannot recommend these members of staff enough and both deserve a pay rise or management recognition.

My boyfriend and I paid a visit to Blueberrys for a meal last Friday evening. We'd booked a table for 6.30pm but needn't have bothered as it was empty. We got served by a lovely waitress who was very pleasant when we asked her what she would recommend. We both decided to go for the pizza having been sold on... More

Had dinner with my family a few weeks ago. The restaurant was quite quiet but still maintained a nice feeling. The service was good with a well balanced approach not over baring but didn't have to wait. The food was fresh and flavour full, decent portions and not a bad price

Booked the hotel so I could visit USW open day with my son. We had 2 double rooms. The whole hotel was in outstandingl good decorative order. The bar and restaurant were decorated in a quirky mock Greco-Roman style. Not sure that everyone would like it but it was certainly novel Rooms were in extremely good order with very large... More

Having stayed here 3 times over the past few years, I have to say that the service remains excellent. The rooms are very big and individual....room 7 is my favourite. Food is excellent and the breakfast is definitely recommended. Car park is nearby and you are given a permit from the hotel to park there for free. Another great point... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Blueberry Inn is a unique hotel located in the centre of Pontypridd, South Wales. Owned by the Pontypridd Market Company and formerly known as the Market Tavern, this 5 storey building underwent a drastic overhaul, with refurishments taking up to two years for completion. The Blueberry Inn had a grand re-opening in December 2008 which did not disappoint, worth waiting two years for the Blueberry Inn shocked and amazed with its dramatic makeover, what was once the Market Tavern seemed completely unrecognisible with many finding it hard to believe it was the same building. The Blueberry will blow you away with it's attention to detail and design. All the rooms are fully equipped with all the mod cons and have all the comfort's you would expect from a top end hotel. The building itself is host to a superb bar and restaurant serving a variety of exquisite cuisine, with breakfast available from 7am, lunch specials from 12pm and a la carte from 6pm. Also host to two exceptional function rooms, on the first floor, the kalma lounge, a boudair themed function room that has played host to a variety of events from wedding receptions to charity nights. Down in the basement you will find the Glo bar, the smallest of the two, this ice themed room with built in wall water features is a real favourite for childrens parties. On the whole the Blueberry Inn is a real gem in the heart of the Valleys and worth a visit for whatever the occasion ... more   less
