Great hotel very central in Stirling. Was our base while in Scotland for four days. Good breakfast. Rooms were spacious and there was a tea maker. No noise at night.(at least where we were). TV could have been a bit bigger?

The Hotel was very nice but the service was okay. The lady's at the front desk were not very friendly and the free WIFI was only available in the lobby which wasn't very good. We were happy with the room. It was a nice size with a nice sitting area, clean and modern bathroom. We had dinner in the restaurant... More

Good clean rooms seem to have been recently refurbished and new bathroom. Corridors and stairwells were a bit tired. Entrance to the hotel and restaurant from the street was welcoming however from the car park less so. A good city centre hotel well appointed and with more character than a premier inn

I had dinner here with a friend. The hotel is right in the heart of Stirling. The interior is very comfortable and the restaurant is very popular. I had potato and leek soup which was piping hot and had a lovely texture and taste. My friend had the soup too. I then had a special burger which looked spectacular and... More

My sister and I visited here so that we could try some good Scottish Whiskey. The bartender was very accommodating. We tried one of three possible flights along with the halibut bites. For not being whiskey drinkers we had such fun tasting the differences. The halibut appetizers was well worth it and kept us with a little bit of food... More

The lobby, bar and restaurant are classy but the rooms have not been updated in 50 years. Paint peeling, old plumbing, no Wifi, dirty carpets and noisy rooms. And cheap: dim lighting, plastic drinking glass and the worst TP I've ever seen.

We were in Stirling for the day and were looking for somewhere to have lunch, we came across the Golden Lion Hotel and saw that they served meals all day. We pop and were offerd the choice of lunch in Cronies Bar or Restaurant. The menu was very reasonable and we decided on fish and chips, which were absolutly delicious.... More

We only had one night at this hotel as it was fully booked. We were visting Stirling at short notice and planned to stay there two night. We had to book a different hotel for the second night. Our room as very small and basic. The bathroom door did not close properly. Very little storage. This hotel caters for bus... More

The service was good and polite. The car park a little hard to find. The food was lovely. I had a large room which was really nice but old and could have been done with brigthening up. The bathroom was clean and so was the bed. The bed was also large and comfortable. Some of the others I travelled with... More

Went to Stirling yesterday and had lunch for the first time in the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and couteous and the food was absolutely delicious. Have walked past The Golden Lion several times when we were shopping in Stirling and my partner thought it was just a hotel but when we walked by it the previous week when... More
