We stayed at the Stirling Highland Hotel for one night and it was a great location for exploring Stirling being in easy walking distance. The hotel rooms are a little dated but did feel largely clean other than when we got into bed, there was a very noticeable wet patch at the bottom of the bed sheets which was unpleasant. We did mention this to the receptionist when we left and although very apologetic, I do think they should have offered a small refund to reflect this as it is not what you expect.
Room was very comfortable and the facilities including the pool and juzucci made the stay that much more relaxing. The location was absolutely brilliant, we were able to walk everywhere including the Stirling castle and the city centre. Would definitely return and highly recommend to others who go through Stirling.
I booked an overnight for me and my daughter, with dinner and spa treatments. Sonia in the spa was amazing, pool was lovely and all the hotel were so helpful and couldn't have made our day any better. The room was lovely, food really nice. I would recommend this hotel to everyone, just a short stroll into town. Great hotel in a great location.
Lovely old building and comfortable room. Staff were mainly very friendly and helpful, apart from one young man on reception who was quite rude and unhelpful, unfortunately, I don’t have his name. The hotel was really let down by the poor standard of food. Breakfast was very average and no plain croissants were provided, jams and golden shred marmalade were really awful, provided in plastic sachets. Marmalade was just a lump of tasteless jelly, which had absolutely no taste of orange. The evening meal was stodgy and there were very limited vegetarian options. My husband had a vegetarian Caesar salad one eve, which had zero protein and was very unsubstantial, this was the only vegetarian option. Fish was served with a large number of boiled vegetables and very little sauce, so it was dry and unpalatable. Ice cream was very basic, certainly not home made, and limited to three choices of flavour: vanilla, chocolate or strawberry. Serving half a parsnip with salmon just doesn’t work as the strong taste of parsnip kills the taste of salmon, again with very little sauce. The stocking of tea bags and water to our room was very hit and miss and it was very difficult to get replacement Earl Grey teabags or bottles of water.…
We booked a dinner, bed and breakfast stay here at the end of driving holiday around Scotland. This was to be a bit of treat at the end after lots of driving. When we arrived we were initially a little disappointed. The hotel and particularly the rooms seemed a little dated. We had a room overlooking the car park which again wasn't ideal and at first we could hear the loud bang of doors closing up and down the corridor but we wanted to make the best of it. We went down to the swimming pool to make use of the facilities. We had about 10 minutes with just us and a few other couples in the pool, but very quickly the pool area filled up. It was the most people we had been around since the pandemic so we felt a little nervous and decided to head back to the room. Dinner was actually really lovely, the food was all delicious and the waiting staff were really helpful, so that was a real highlight. The location was great for walking around Stirling and exploring the sights so although not quite the treat we had imagined, all in all we enjoyed our stay.…
