We were booked a night at this hotel as a wedding present and really welcomed the break. Set near the south downs the drive there was quite beautiful. The last 15 minutes took us along narrow country lanes through some woods where trees met overhead! Our room was in the attic of the old house. Ceilings were low and floors...

Randomly picked out this hotel as we needed somewhere to stay in Sussex at short notice. The setting is beautiful and the hotel itself is lovey. The staff couldn't have been better and nothing was too much trouble. The evening meal we ate in the restaurant was some of the nicest food we'd had in a long time and breakfast...

First break without children for over a decade, so went for a quiet couple of days down on the edge of the South Downs. Hotel is in tranquil setting, although terrible mobile reception (Vodafone) was frustrating (but cannot attribute any blame to hotel other than for the thickness of its old walls!). We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed...

Our stay was very good the staff were excellent and attentive. The bedroom in the old part of the hotel was excellent with a very comfy bed.The only reason not 5 star was certain items in the cooked breakfast were overcooked or had been left under the server lights too long.

Lovely place for a one night stop over, after flying in to Gatwick this was a perfect place only an hour away and on the way back home to the south west. Old school charm, beds, pillows and duvets just lovely....best nights sleep ever! Had burgers for a snack in the bar area, very tasty & good value at £15....

A one night stay with my husband - package included bed, breakfast, three course dinner and a £30 voucher for a spa treatment. The hotel is stunning, like stepping back in time. The room was very comfortable. Swimming in the inky blue water of the pool was incredibly relaxing in a sunlit atrium. Massage was excellent. Wonderful staff and inventive...

Our stay at the hotel was too brief and we wished we had stayed longer. It was the sort of hotel where you wanted to stay in , rather than go out sightseeing, whether we lounged around in the conservatory or in the comfortable but traditional bar or settled down for a meal in the excellent restaurant. The hotel was...

The staff were very attentive and our room spotless. The breakfast and Dinner were magnificent the chef and his staff prepared a wide range of dishes on the menu. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and wine from the hotel's extensive cellar. The hotel is situated in an area close to National Trust properties and other interesting historic sites. We visited...
