We stayed here for a couple of nights with friends last week. The whole experience was first class throughout with professional, polite, efficient, and friendly staff. The food was excellent and the whole hotel had a really lovely old fashioned, in the very best sense, vibe. A real oasis of civilised calm.

My girlfriend booked us in for an overnight stay at this gorgeous hotel seeped in history. The service was really genuine and friendly. There's over 70 different gins in the bar when fully stocked and the bartender was incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming. The bar is situated in the oldest part of the building, which was built in 1430's with massive...

If I get clients coming a fair distance to my gallery I am delighted that I can take them here as my guest and they have a great time , good food , good drinks and feel refreshed. 11/10 this quiet pub could easily be driven passed ( great street art on its wall) but it is well worth the...

Wonderful charming hotel with real log fires, good food, and very helpful and friendly staff. Wood beamed bar our favourite spot. Spa a real indulgence and beautiful swimming pool. Our dog was made very welcome. What more could you ask for?

My wife, son, mother in law and myself booked your 3 night Christmas package, it was the first time we had been away for Christmas and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. It was really well organised and you all made us very welcome. It was excellent, thanks to you all at The Spread Eagle.

An overnight package with spa treatments for my wife's birthday. Welcoming and old-fashioned in the best sense; an old timber-framed building that helped create that ambience. Cosy lounge/bar with two lit fires to help us relax, good 3-course dinner with prompt service. Comfortable "Superior" room on 1st floor (some on 2nd floor have sloping ceilings). Well-cooked breakfast. Spa is excellent...

We had a wonderful time from start to finish. The hotel was beautifully decorated in keeping with its style, staff friendly , helpful and professional. We shared a table with interesting couples and enjoyed their company. Food was delicious- perhaps choices might be good as set menu. The hunt meet on New Year's Day was a traditional scene enjoyed by...

We visited The Spread Eagle to celebrate the start of the New Year. Our experience was a story of two halves. We loved the old world charm of the hotel which was exactly as expected. The team that greeted us upon arrival was very professional and made us feel very welcome. Unfortunately the professional service did not flow through to...

Very comfortable rooms with plenty of places in which to relax - a sunny conservatory, spacious bar and indoor pool and spar. Excellent food and friendly service. We stayed in The Chinese Room, with interesting furnishings and pictures.
